    Antivirus suggestions

I currently run Norton 360 internet security on 2 computers. I have run various versions of Norton internet security for years and really have not had any problems.

My HP laptop runs Windows Vista and my Lenovo desktop runs Windows 7. I surf, e-mail, shop online. No computer based buisness or work.

My subscription for Norton expires soon and they want like $89.00 to renew for 1 year. They keep jacking up their prices and may be time to try out another service.

    Any suggestions???

Different reviews here, where 360 Total Security (freeware) was top rated:
The latest technology news and reviews, covering computing, home entertainment systems, gadgets and more

It also was top rated on several other sites. It uses 4 engines but I have not experienced any resource hogging. I downloaded it few days ago and so far have been happy with it:

360 Total Security is a Cybersecurity software. Protect your PC against malware, ransomware, malicious websites and other advanced online threats, Download 360 Total Security for free and secure your PC.

We have ESET nod32 on a few computers last 5 yrs or so. IT guy I know recommended it no complaints. Looks like they're having a sale.

Yeah, macs don't get viruses, that is what Apple says so it must be true. You must be trying to get your post count up, because your post was not anywhere close to the original question.

Kaspersky gets good reviews. I use and have never had a problem. Not sure how it compares price wise though. Some things you shouldn't skimp on. If you have the technical know how to deal with and recover from a virus, then maybe it doesn't matter so much.

Same here. I have a Macbook and never have heard of this "antivirus" stuff. Is that an app?

Kapersky or ESET, I've run both. Way better than anything else out there.

A big consideration for me is that I dont have the techincal expertise to deal with and recover from virus issues. Norton has done a good job for me. I know Norton is not 100 % secure, no antivirus software really is, it just boils down to cost for me.

I threw it out there and thank you to all who have given their suggestions...
