    This.

My family has been using TVMC (formerly XBMC) for over 2 years now. Very stable and easy to set-up and use. At least with TVMC.

There are tons of youtube videos to answer all of your questions, concerns.

All you need is a computer and a way to display, or at least in my case, airplay your screen to your home entertainment center. I have TVMC installed on my iPad, iPhone and Macs. No need to pay for cable anymore. So save your money for faster internet possibly.

Also, no need to DVR as well because All shows are stored in databases from which you just stream from, hence the need for adequate internet speeds. You don't need the fastest, just fast enough to stream HD content online.

PM for any questions and I will assist you in installing and setting up TVMC step by step. Super easy and FREE. All you need is a computer device capable of connecting to, or stream to which ever TV.

... and did I mention it is FREE.

I don't miss cable or the bill one bit. We have 25mb down and with both TV's running and my wife working from home we haven't had any problems.
