Yeah, sounds like they are moving to position as the apple of the android deviceverse.

But I will not partake of the communist fruit, nor it's imitators.

Lame - I really like my Note 3 and they could have been building a serious brand relationship with me. My next device will probably be an HTC running cyanogen.

Interesting. I have read hundreds of comments re the S6 and can count on one hand the number of people who like the announced S6. Probably 99% of the responses are negative. What a disappointment. Guess I will have to settle for the S5 or LG G3.

Wow good thing I have the s5, and have to skip a generation anyways. Hopefully they rectify this by the s7...

Nah, note 4 edge would be a decent option for someone wanting to get a phone NOW.

I do not support Samsung's decision to eliminate the microSD card. That said, I think their motivation might have something to do with the recent changes to the Android OS by Google which really limits the usefulness of the SD card.

As for the non-replaceable battery, that is infuriating: it caters to the people who like to continually upgrade to the latest & greatest, but completely ignores the rest of us who are satisfied to keep their phone for more than a year or two. I've never swapped my battery during the day to get more use time. But I have replaced my battery to extend the life of the phone.

I'm thinking that might be the way to go; apparently the Note isn't that much larger than the S5...

...plus it has a stylus. That might be useful for slow typists like myself.

I wish I had the Note 4 available when I bought my S5. Both are good phones, but the Note is such a better device.

Pity. We'll see what the next one will be. I'm on S5 now (S3 before that), so I'm in no hurry to upgrade (if S3 were powerful enough for some of the apps I run on it, I'd still use that). I like Samsung for being a solid, reliable, and predictable phone, while running a customizable Android. I don't need an iPhone-like locked down brick.

And yes, I do have a couple of spare batteries with me at all times. I use that phone quite a lot and often without an outlet in sight. So... we'll see what Samsung comes up with next, while looking into other Android phones.

Microsoft did the same thing with Windows 8/2012. Funny how company after company tries to imitate Apple and creates a flop, alienating its base and not attracting the Apple fans they seem to want to attract. Apple fans want APPLE, not some features that Apple has

I held off upgrading my S3 because I wanted to see what was going to be next. Now I know.

So, is anyone looking forward to buying this thing? The "edge" is a little gimmicky, but maybe some will find that useful?

This is one stupid move! I used an iPhone before until I switched to Samsung, it's seems that Samsung is following the footsteps of Apple. Crap!

I must be the only one that isnt complaining. Im indifferent about the non removable backing and SD card issue. I look forward to getting the new s6 especially on the Edge plan where it wont cost me anything like my s5 besides tax.

Tired of these manufacturers trying to copy apple. The tablets are going 4:3 now like the ipad. I like wide-screen on my tablet because I mostly use it for watching video.

They don't want you to be able to take the battery out because then they wouldn't have control over your device. With the battery always in the phone, they can remotely turn you on, find you with GPS and listen to your conversations. Thank the NSA.
