I am thinking to going this weekend. I heard the admission is free for NRA members. Is this true?

Check the internet and maybe also check the Sacto Bee for any coupons. Usually in the sports section. Cant confirm the NRA freebie issue. Time to stock up on ammo and jerky.sigpicWango Tango! -
I don't know about nra=free, but I do have a question about ammo. I used to buy my bulk ammo there in the past... does the new law require vendors at shows to record name address etc? I know the brick and mortar stores do, but I was wondering if it extends to table vendors at shows as well? If so, I will be passing, thanks. The one thing worse than defeat is surrender.Comment

The only place I've been asked for ID to buy ammo was in the city of Los Angeles. That was for pistol ammo only. No problems any where else that I know.If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on earth. - Ronald ReaganComment

Too bad the free admission only works once per year for annual members and stops working at some point for lifetime members as they upgrade their membership levels.

I've made the mistake of buying ammo in Sacramento recently. Kind of a pain, they do require photo ID, log the CDL info & ammo bought - sign here & thumbprint IIRC. A fairly new law, if the CalExpo hall is physically in Sac I'd expect they have to do the same.GOA Member & SAF Life MemberComment

I thought that the only reason they check ID is to see that you're of age to buy. 18 for rifle & 21 for PistolComment

You're kidding me, right?
This is a Sacramento city ordinance. I'm assuming (pretty sure) the Expo center is within city limits. The part I was questioning is whether it applies beyond brick & mortar institutions, to such venues as a "gun show" or other traveling vendor, for instance some guy selling ammo out of the trunk of his car.The one thing worse than defeat is surrender.Comment

Actually, I think you could re-up for another year each time you went to the show, and I think that they just add those extra years on the back end of your membership.
IIRC, the way it works it that the local NFA council that signs you up is actually paying your addmission into the the show. Now, there may be some discounting going on with the membership and the admission so that they aren't losing their butts on the deal.and stops working at some point for lifetime members as they upgrade their membership levels.
I wouldn't expect them to pay for me to get in if I wasn't giving them money. But, I have heard other Life members *****ing big time about that they should get in free since they are a Life Member.Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

You remember correctly. Gunshow NRA deal is 25 dollars for membership. That also gets you into the show for free. Saves 10 bucks of the regular member fee.IIRC, the way it works it that the local NFA council that signs you up is actually paying your addmission into the the show. I will be working the NRA booth on sunday. Look for me there.
In any type of fight, & especially gun fights, there are no winners ..... just varying degrees of losers. The only fight you win is the one you never get into.
