I carry a handicap index between 2 and 4 depending on the time of year. If you don't know anything about golf then let's just say that I don't suck. How did I get this good? Practice? Playing more? NOOOOOOO!

    LESSONS!!

People I play with ask me all the time how did I get to this level of golf. How can they get as good as me or better. Is it just experience. Playing time? Natural ability? I tell them lessons. That is the best money you can spend as a golfer if you really want to enjoy a round of golf and be challenged.

SAME GOES WITH GUNS. If you desire to be proficient with your weapon you need to get lessons and learn the fundamentals and practice, practice, practice. Take some classes on the weekends. I guarantee that you will thoroughly enjoy the experience, learn something EVERY time you go, and improve your marksmanship every time you go.

    Money well spent.

ETA: Nice groups at 15 yards sir.
    Nice.

    My handicap is:
My swing, my grip, my stance, my head game...
    Sorry, not sorry.

Dear autocorrect, I'm really getting tired of your shirt!

Well then you just answered you own question. If you do fine taking your time and don't when you go faster then obviously you're skipping the basics when you try to speed up. The basics are the basics are the basics no matter how fast or slow you're shooting.

Seems you tried to jump from a slow, focused pace to your 1 shot per second pace without going through the gradual progression of speeding up your Grip-Sight Picture-Trigger Pull-Follow Thru-ReAquire Target routine.

Instead of "start slow then go fast" it should be 'start slow, master it, then go just a little bit faster'.

That just summarizes the advice I've received from the few instructors I've had the pleasure of working with.

Says the glock lawyers, I have 1000 cast bullets through mine with no problems at all. The trick as getting the load right and using adequate lubricants or coatings
I don't drink or Smoke. I spend my money on gunpowder and gasoline.

I was actually well aware of this, and I've seen it happen myself with incorrectly loaded cast lead bullets I made. Lead buildup does happen much faster in polygonal barrels.
