This.
I took the test last weekend and I would have been embarrassed if I had gotten a single wrong answer. At least 80% of the questions are pure common sense, which is enough to get a passing score.
The only questions that require any specific knowledge are questions like the one that asks the ages required to purchase a rifle and/or handgun. Only because it's understandable that a reasonable person might assume that it's 18 or 21 for both and not know there's a difference.
It's nothing but a tax masquerading as a test.
I'd be more interested in hearing store owner/employee stories about the safe handing demonstration. Have you ever flunked anyone? How does that work if somebody has paid, waited their ten days and come back to pick up their firearm and can't manage to figure out which end up the weapon is up? Are they charged a restocking fee? I'd imagine that if you told somebody they were too dangerous to certify them for safe handling, that they'd be fairly upset and angry.Comment

When I took mine the guy next to me missed six questions and he turned his in first and when the employee came back and said he barely passed I asked the kid don't you want to know which ones you missed ? The kid looked ashamed and said no!Comment

I missed 2. I made a mistake on one but the other I honestly had no clue what the answer was.
True or False
A gun lock or trigger lock is intended to keep unathorized people from firing the weapon.
I marked true and was wrong.
The one I made a mistake on was the one saying a FFL is required to transfer a firearm and I quickly clicked true but didn't read the last line on the question where it had some exception. I knew this was not the ACT or SAT so I didn't take it very seriously and blew through it.Comment

Want to hear something really funny I bought a bolt action from turners and pretended like I didn't know how to load or unload the dummy round and they passed me. My daughter was there laughing at me while I did it wish I would have had her video itComment

I'm surprised he didn't take the gun and kick you *ss to the curb. That's no joke my friend.Comment

So what is a trigger lock do? I would assume just by that question a locked trigger would keep people from firing the weapon no?"If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so." - Thomas JeffersonComment
-
I suppose the way the question was worded was to imply that the lock prevents but does not stop. The test is very poorly written in many areas but common sense usually points to the right answer.Comment

That test was literally asinine. Just a money grab for the state.sigpic

If you don't pass it, you should win a darwin award, i think most of you guys here would agree.Comment

I went to my FFL to DROS a lower that I had sent to him. I forgot about the FSC. I like to at least scan the handbook before taking it. I just took it knowing I should easily pass it.
The only question I had a problem with was the one above. I marked true and got it right. I still think it is a poor question. I have been able to remove many trigger locks that I have lost the key for within a minute or two using just my hands or a screwdriver. So if that is their intent, they are poorly designed.Anyone can look around and see the damage to the state and country inflicted by bad politicians.
A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.
Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?
