I was at the doctors office today and saw a guy in the waiting room reading the old HSC study guide. I was going to tell him he really didn't need to study, but then it hit me...What can it hurt? Maybe he'll learn something.

I have to take issue here as not everyone has been raised up from a cap gun to a hunter's safety class to present armament.
It was the best .90 cents I've ever spent to help get my SO her HSC card, a Smith and Wesson .357 snub, professional self defense training which then led her to a CCW which she just renewed for another two years. A joke? Maybe to some of you but to others with no early on gun handling history the HSC handbook is knowledge for those who are interested in learning.

The study guide is available online. So just use the online version. Don't waste the paper. Why waste the paper. It's not as tho' the thing is some important document that you are going to have to refer to regularly over the coming years.

Of the test yikes ,now we know why California is driving up prices and having everyone take these dumb tests, I was at the turners in rancho and this one gun clerk or turners employee chubby young hispanic guy with a gotee was actually telling the answers to this guy taking the test I overheard the employee saying if we don't get you to pass it this time its going to be another $25 and you have already paid for it twice.

There is learning then there is common sense, I had my 9 year-old daughter take the test and she looked at me and said dad are these real questions because you would have to be a dumb *horses rear* to not get these right!

The study guide is put out by the state of CA, not Turners. Turners just offers it as a courtesy to help people get their FSC I'd think. I've never been in a Turners so I can't say for sure.

Very true that is why you make your own, but buying commercial made merchandise the government has a right to get there pieces of the pie.
