    glock 42 question

So I missed my chance to get a 42 due to an operation I had. Now I'm seeing that asking price is any were from 800 to 650 range. I expected this because California is definetly a sellers market with the roster dropping guns constantly. I just wanted to see what if any of you had experience with the 42 and if u felt like the inflated price was worth it in the long run. I kbow people are gonna say it's a glock I'd never pay this or that. I also know people will accuse people of crying about the price. So to clarify I like glock and 800 is steep but isnt so much money that I couldn't afford it but that being said I'd still feel like it was a burn.

    I like Glock.

Don't do it, not worth it at that price point.

$800 is way too steep. Even when they were still obtainable via SSE, people were selling them high at $650-$700 for whatever reason, when you could get one for right around $500 OTD at some places with SSE.

One other thing to note is that the G42's are really hit or miss when it comes to reliability. My early edition G42 before Glock started making all of the "fixes" to the frame & mags, it was flawless and ate & shot everything I put through it. Never had any issues with it. And then I hear people who just bought one in the past couple of months have lots of problems with them, even after sending it back to Glock once or twice, so you just never know.

Grrr feed back guys appreciate it. Yeah 800 is super steep. I guess I'll wait in the sidelines and hopefully someone let's one go for a reasonable price some time this year. You guys have any other suggestions for a similar sized pistol ? I see kahr arms but don't know much about them. I also like those sig p238 and the 9mm version but those are pricy as well.

800 is high but at 650 I would get it. It's replaced my G27 as everyday carry.

I am a Glock guy, I have a g42 I like it but would not pay $800. Be patient and watch the market place and get one at a fair price.

OP i'd wait a couple months to see how the market is... some outrageously over priced off-roster pistols in the marketplace!!!!

Wait until the end of February and the 9th circuit declares the Cal DOJ list illegal.

The p238 would be a good choice.

I like my 42. At $600-$650 sure, more than that probably not although I'm not sure what I would replace it with.

My wife loves hers, I like it too. However I paid 480 otd after SSE and tax, like others said no way I'd pay 800. If u really think u want to pay that much at least try and shoot one first before you commit to be sure it's worth it to you.

I have a 42 and would not buy another at 650, much less 550.

Unless you can be sure to get a good one, it isn't worth the premium for the amount of problems a good portion of them have.

So... if you can test it and shoot a few boxes of factory ammo through it and it works 100%, then it 'might' be worth $600 IF you really needed a big 380.
