I don't mean this as a personal attack, so if it comes across as one, I apologize in advance. Ignorance of the law is no excuse, especially when sales/transfers/etc. related to firearms are involved. Just because you "believe something is against the law" does not make it so. Instead of flat out not doing it, might I suggest looking up the matter so any discrepancies can be settled without further incident?

Personally, I feel that Turner's is hit and miss, with most of my experiences falling under the "miss" category despite going to multiple stores (West Covina, Pasadena, and Fountain Valley). From what I've experienced, employees wearing red polo shirts are generally completely useless and rude, with a few exceptions. All of the employees that I've dealt with who wore black polo shirts have been polite and extremely helpful, and I will gladly wait longer if I have to in order to talk to them.

if they were to look up something everytime a customer wanted something they couldnt have there wouldnt be time for much else.... try getting a job there for a few months.. you would be amazed at what walks in...

Thats odd, the few times I have special ordered at Turners, they charged dealer price plus 10%.

I must have bought 20 or so pistols and longguns from Turners Norwalk, the only problems I have had are a new guy not honoring the sale price on a gun I had on layaway, and them telling me I still had to buy a lock, even though, 2 weeks prior, I had bought a DOJ approved locking gun cabinet, from the same salesman!! He wanted a copy of the receipt and this and that blah blah.

Why? All that is legally required is the signed affidavit stating you have a CA approved safe.

Nope. Every other time, they just had me sign an affadavit stating I owned a safe or DOJ approved lockbox/cabinet.

Turners is under the microscope with DOJ because of the size of the company so they have triple the CYA(cover your ***) forms that other gunshops dont have. You all know it can take up to an hour plus to do a PPT at turners, why go there for that? By California law any store that sells hand guns have to do them, go to a place that takes ten minutes (like Daves in San Bernadino for example). Its a company policies they make sure the anal rapage doesnt come from doj, thats why they have stuck around for so long.

Its sucks the attitude you got about the p-1 and that sucks you fealt embarassed about the whole situation but why couldnt you just have your three little papers and get done with it? Also feeling the the president of a thirteen store corperation is blowing you off because he hasnt gotten back to your email. I would bet money if you were in his position dealing with venders, doj, internal emails as well as running the company, you may not get back in a timely fashion to all customer emails that could be generated from from thirteen stores worth of customers.

I feel your pain though in fairness the Turners people aren't here to say their side of the story. If I were to tell you all the crap Turners has pulled with me over the years you would be amazed and I frankly don't have 2-3 hours! Signal Hill has a real d*&khead employee or two as does Norwalk(except for Mas) and Reseda sucks hards as well. I've had better luck at Fountain Valley and sometimes at Orange though my friend reported poor service thre though he sort of deserved it as he always fondles the guns but almost never buys anything!

I try to avoid Turners sometimes but good service by some employees(and from Bill Ortiz also BTW) has kept me coming back for now. Prices can be ok when there is a sale and sometimes they get in nice consignments. I have bought between my father and I in the last 7 years easily 25-30 firearms from Turners though I'm sure they could care less about that they way they act at Turners sometimes.

Recent problems I have had with Turners include employees trying to hold back consignment guns from the case that are good deals for their friends instead of on a first come first serve basis and having heard a Turners employee tell customers they need to make appointments to do PPTs which I believe is illegal.

As for the Wather P1's just be patient and look for a deal. Turners pricing on these has been all over the place in the last 3 years. Saw one advertized at Signal Hill as a consignment at $200. Got mine in 2003 for $250. It was advertized later at $229! Have seen them selling for over $250 since 2003 though at Turners.
