I do wish at least one day of SHoT was open to the general public though

but remember, if you do get in, it's geared toward dealer sales.. so it's cool to ask a question or two or ask for some swag when the reps aren't busy but not cool to bug them when they have business to tend to..

Keep in mind that SHOT is not about the attendees. It is about the exhibitors. By keeping the attendees to exclusively people in the industry, the intent is to provide exhibitors with well-qualified visitors to their booth so that they don't have to sort through look-e-loos and people who are only interested in buying one of an item rather than 1,000.

I work in the tradeshow/events industry, and these types of shows are more worthwhile for a company since the leads that they receive (a major goal of a tradeshow) represent far greater potential sales than a consumer show does.
