i'm sad to learn of this little shop closing it's doors. the owners were very friendly to me and never forgot my name. we engaged in small talk whenever i stopped in.

they did get some things in the shop that were not all that easy to find at a storefront. IIRC, i paid $650.00 for a w german Sig Sauer P220 .45 ACP consignment gun in like new condition several years ago. while not a screamin deal, the Sig was like new. i still own it. i also picked up a few used OldSchool OEM mags for my w german P230SL at a very reasonable price.

      Yes.
Great place to buy military surplus. Things like combat boots and Jerry cans. I think the guns were only about 10% of his sales.
My Dad took me there as a kid. I remember Slim being tall and really a decent guy.

Slim was a decent guy. As a kid my older cousin and I rode our bikes there for some wrist rocket replacement bands. I asked Slim for some "rubbers" he looked at me and said "son your too young for those but if you want some you need to go to the drugstore" he and my cousin had a good laugh while I had no clue to what the were laughing about.

Never knew White Front...but you forgot The Treasury.

Been in this store once or twice...it was at the top of the Hill yes?

          Nope.

Should've looked at the address...it's down by Valley...never knew they were there...

very unfortunate situation, but Gun Effects has come to fill in the void in the meantime...

So did you buy anything? I couldn't find any guns worth buying. Picked up what I could otherwise, other odds and ends but as mentioned not much there especially not much the average CGNer would want.

Hellayella: is gun effects a shady Walter chow front or is it truly independent of entreprise arms? I've heard both rumors?
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

This is getting OT but they claim to be separate from Enterprise but seems otherwise. One indicator is they occupy same spots with same displays at gun shows as Enterprise used to have. Sad to see Old West closing but I figured would happen eventually after the husband died. I bought 3 guns there over the years usually I found it overpriced there plus I'm not exactly local to it.

It is completely independent of entreprise arms, part of the reason they broke off was to get away from all the entreprise bs. Gun effects is good to go in my book.
