Guys I dont wanna sound like too much of a pansy, but I will. Can you guys keep me updated on when those things freakin leave! I do not want to be swatting those things with a loaded rifle infront of me! Better yet, I dont want the guy next to me swatting at them or tryin to shoot them down, while one is flying right in front of me!

Just came back from ASR. First time up there since the fire. Man, that was CLOSE! Electric Factory and bear308 described it fairly accurately. On the drive up, you have charred and burned terrain on your left and right, all up the hillsides. There was even one tree that looked like it burned from the inside out and collapsed. The fire went all the way up to the parking lot, then somehow went around the range to eat up the hills behind the backstops. One ember, a gentle breeze, and POOF! Gone. It's a minor miracle the structures escaped with relatively no damage. As one RO put it, "God's got membership in the NRA."

We really can't take for granted the few public shooting facilities we have left. If it ain't an angry community of neighboring homes, or gun grabbing bureaucrats, or random Acts of God, it's something.

I really appreciated shooting with friends at ASR today.

(Oh, and there were a few yellow jackets around, but not too bad.)

Hey Paul, we probably won't be there this Sunday, but probably the Sunday after that

The Jello Yackets were to bad, although I did have one land right on my sight rib as I was shooting clays. I closed my eyes when I pulled the trigger to ensure I didn't get stung in the eye.

So since everything's already all charred... does that mean we can shoot bi-metal jacket wolf?

Keep me updated. There was a few yellow jackets at Lytle creek yesterday too.

Remington makes a .22lr ammo named Yellow Jacket, lol.

I fired some .22lr Remington Viper yesterday, appropriate, this range had a rattler problem.
