Brownells dogged me on a glock conversion barrel recently. Ordered it (in stock) a few days later I wondered why they didn't ship it, they didn't have it!!! I will say this, I only called once & I wasn't angry. I'm just glad I called. Disappointed, but they can be great for certain parts. CDNNsports great for mags, out of Abilene texas, fast shipping too.

      Merry Christmas!

I placed two orders with them recently(everything was in stock). The second order didn't ship for 12 days. The first order never shipped after 25 days. So I finally called them and the couldn't understand why the barrel I ordered didn't ship already. They sent me an email and a voicemail with the tracking info later that day with the new warehouse excuse. The sent it surepost... You'd think they would send it faster since they dropped the ball.

Brownells has ALWAYS been a reliable, go-to vendor. I have used them a number of times through the years. But in recent months, they have been moving all of their inventory to a new warehouse location. All of this during the holiday season. As you can imagine, if not performed with efficiency and care, this can be disastrous for customers. And it looks like it has become a cluster****. But in no certain terms would I consider them unethical or shady.

Just wait for a couple of months to let them get settled in. I will not use them until then. But I will continue to send them some business. They are OK in my book.

OP, can you imagine how bad it was 20+ years ago without the interweb, placing a phone order for something your looking at in a owners manual, parts book or catalog.

Do you remember the old days?

Dang, That about sums it up for us that have been around. 6-8 week shipping on everything too, remember that? Brownells is great, didn't know they had major changes going on. They have the parts nobody else has sometimes.

Bro, Do you even have ammo?

I ordered powder from them over a year ago and it still has not shipped. SO WHAT. They cannot ship something they do not have. I am not crying about it. I will just wait until they get it in stock and STILL continue to order from them.

My order I placed last Friday showed up today, not bad for Christmas season. I've probably placed 300+ orders over the last 12 years from Brownells and have always found them to be extremely helpful. "Unethical " is not a word I would ever associate with them. Out of all those orders they have screwed up maybe 3 and they were promptly and politely fixed with a phone call. BTW I never order from them over the internet, I always call and speak with a human being. I don't know if that helps but I also never end up have any problems with them, so maybe that's the secret.

Midwest Gun Works is another good place to order from. Excellent customer service and good prices. And they answer the phone in person on the first or second ring.

I'm the worst of the bunch ...I'm assembling an old motorcycle, I bet I've ordered 30 parts from ebay in the last 3 months, I yell at every seller that doesn't ship the next day (it just makes me fell better)

I don't know how we\old guys managed 20+ years ago.

If my wife didn't have a job to pay for all my ebay stuff I'd get rid of her, who needs em now when we have google?

I've always had good experiences W brownells. One FedEx box got lost and they sent me a replacement without question.

They also have a VERY generous return policy. If a part fails years later, they'll take it back, no questions asked.

Between my friends and myself, we've spent enough money at brownells to buy a pretty decent car I'll bet.

yah, I'm in the op overreacting camp.. or at least a little impatient..

Brownell's is simply awesome.. they fill several niches in the business that few others can cover as many.. I'm not canning them over a few late magazine shipments while they're moving warehouse locations.. I'm sure the staff the op contacted was just trying to be helpful, not deceptive.. their resources and inventory are great.. I have their little yellow baggies all over the place

if it was that critical to have something by a deadline, should have had it expedited with guaranteed [in written policy] shipping or as mentioned, bought them over the counter.. we're not talking rare and unusual items here so I'm sure they're not too difficult to find locally if it was that urgent..

and after all is said and done, I reckon they'll even cut the op some slack with a nice discount coupon or similar for his trouble if he keeps his cool on the phone..

                        good luck!

Dood, you place an order during the silly season, and add to that ...while they are upgrading to a bigger warehouse, the odds are against you to get next day service.
Then start calling and *****ing on a daily basis ? Like that is going to help ? The more calls the less work they get done. Plus the person on the phone probably is not in the warehouse.

Then you come on here and complain about them, im sure they wont miss having you as a customer.

Its not like they sent you the wrong stuff and told you to go pound sand, or charged your card right away and then cancelled your order. They havent done things that other companies do ...like Troy, SOE gear, Arms Unlimited.

I placed an order and it took 3 weeks to get, usually its only a week. NO BIG DEAL!
Brownells is GOOD TO GO !

Just for comparison- I just placed an order on 12/19 (Friday night). They shipped it Monday 12/22. Not bad for Xmas service.
