Anyone else have this issue? My blued magazines keep on rusting in my range bag. I know, I know, maybe I should just keep them out of there, but it seems to be a non-issue with others. What's the deal and what has anyone else done?

Hot blue finishes offer some corrosion protection on their own, but it is greatly improved with oil. If you get a non oiled blued finish wet, it will rust pretty quickly. Wipe that finish down with an oily rag regularly, and it will last a very long time.Comment

The only mags I've had rust on me were factory 1911 mags.
A little bit tho. But everything that's in my hands (very sweaty hands). Only mags to ever rust on me.

Light coat your gun and mags with clp. That should provide some reliefComment

Common reasons for rust in range bags if they were not exposed to water from the outside:
Food or Water bottles inside not sealed.
Water based cleaners leaking onto the mags and removing any oils.
Excessive handling with sweaty hands.
Stored in a moist environment as the materials will absorb moisture over time (commonly stored on a cement floor in a cold room which will cause moisture to condense on the bag).Comment

my Ruger 10/22 takedown is still in the bag and so far, no rust on it.Unless we keep the barbarian virtues, gaining the civilized ones will be of little avail. Oversentimentality, oversoftness, washiness, and mushiness are the great dangers of this age and of this people." Teddy Roosevelt
