Help! Cerakote Gone Wrong

First time back to this thread, as I have been waiting for the shop to "make good" on their work. Thank you Dan for the offer, in the past I have talked with you about having my AK as well as other rifles done, however, the timing was never quite right. Shame on me for not going with someone who time and time again has shown the proper commitment to his or her craft.
As to Grave....as I stated before, I am permitting the shop to correct itself before I announce to the world who they are. The only reason why I am giving them any amount of time has to do with the conversation that I had with the owner, and the fact that he was unaware of what was being turned out "which he did take full responsibility for". If a shop can make the necessary self corrections to do right by its customers, I feel that it should be given a second chance....before it is trashed on every gun website, review board, and shop in town.Comment

thats pretty politically correct, not exactly my style, but probably would work better than my style would, i might add into the part of 'working with him' that I 'might' be willing to allow him to pay for the parts that need fixing, and replace them myself, and keep the old parts as sparesThat really sucks.
I'd avoid court time until all other options have been exhausted.
Are you communicating with the owner/certified person or the office workers?
I'd have a sit down talk with the owner. Ask him what his plan is to fix the problem. Ask what time frames he is anticipating. Visit him on a regular basis based on his time estimations. Ask what you can do to help. Price some replacement parts and present them to him as an option. Etc.
Basically, do everything you can to work out the problem WITH him instead of taking the stance of "fix it or I'll sue."
I know it sucks but you just have to work through the problem.
Also, start keeping detailed notes on phone calls, emails, etc. basically log the entire interaction in case it does end up in small claims courtComment

Hello all, and thanks for waiting with me.
So my AK is finally done and in my grubby paws....and despite the extended wait, I have to say that I am very pleased with the final product! As for the shop, the owner has stepped up and indicated that he will be doing all future cerakoting in the shop until his other guy is properly trained and has demonstrated the skill necessary to deliver a quality product. So yeah, I am 100% satisfied with this action, and no bad press will be delivered to the shop on account of me.
As for the end result, the pictures are below. Some of the key areas that I was looking at was the rails, and any signs of over or under spray. Likewise, a consistent spray and color. And to my eyes...it looks exactly like what I would have hoped for.
Oh, and the color is Graphite Black

Look, if the gun became aware I wouldn't want it back. Unless it developed a winning personality. So I am in need of help with regards to some work that I recently had done.
The situation is that I had my Arsenal SLR 101s recently Cerakoted by a local shop that just became a certified applicator, however, after the fact, it becomes aware that the owner of the shop got certified and decided to farm the work out to one of his employees.Comment
