I have a vague recollection of having a waiting period purchasing my first handgun back in '84 or '85??? Am I hallucinating, or could it have been a local (Orange County) thing?ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕPaul

Reminds me of "Good Morning, Vietnam!"
Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P.sigpic

In CA, for the last 91 years, there has been a waiting period when buying/transferring a handgun from a dealer.
1923 = 1 day waiting period on handguns
1955 = 3 day waiting period on handguns
1965 = 5 day waiting period on handguns
1975 = 15 day waiting period on firearms
1997 = 10 day waiting period on firearmssigpic

This is the most depressing post I've read all year!
Remembering all the rights that have been slowly taken away is very depressing.
Anybody over 55 or so should be feelin' pretty low right now."The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."
