12-31-1990 = last day it was legal to do cash & carry transactions on firearms in CA

01-01-1991= all firearms needed to be transferred through a CA FFL dealer (exemptions for intra-familial gifts and C&R long guns)

In CA, for the last 91 years, there has been a waiting period when buying/transferring a handgun from a dealer.

1923 = 1 day waiting period on handguns
1955 = 3 day waiting period on handguns
1965 = 5 day waiting period on handguns
1975 = 15 day waiting period on firearms
1997 = 10 day waiting period on firearms

The bill was signed when a republican was governor. California had a republican as governor from 1983 thru 1999.

This is the most depressing post I've read all year!
Remembering all the rights that have been slowly taken away is very depressing.
Anybody over 55 or so should be feelin' pretty low right now.
