    BIGGER BULLETS ARE BETTER!!

I went with the Rossi R92 in .44 Mag to match my S&W 629.

As our state's logo, the golden bear AND tyrannosaurus rex are extinct, I'm concerned about the paper cuts from good quality silhouettes... They can get fairly nasty. LOOK AT THOSE TEETH!!!

I say .38/.357 but I'm cheap and can reload .38 for dirt cheap.

44 if you reload 357 if you don't
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I have .45 Colt and .357 levers; different calibers for different uses, different shooting games, etc.
Reload for everything and there won't be any reason not to shoot 'em all

Those things scare me (because they absolutely devour innocent little powder jugs in just a few bites)

But in all seriousness, doesn't each round of 45-70 use about 10 times the amount of powder as each round of .38 spl? That's a pricey round for plinking!

Compromise. Get a .41 mag. Better yet, get all three calibers.

I say both are fantastic calibers. I reload and have been for decades. Mostly .45ACP and 10MM on two Dillon machines.

My early New Years Resolution is to start reloading for my Lever and Wheel guns that sit in my safe waiting.

So soon, .44 Magnum and .357 will be added to my ability.

All of our members should consider reloading. Ammunition in .44 and .357 is expensive to buy folks. Casual plinking can cost some serious cash. Sure, the initial cost to reload can be the same as a premium 1911, but once you get in the 'game' you can really save some $ and start feeding those safe queens.

Dillon equipment also sells well and you can recoup $ down the line if you quit reloading. JMO...

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).

When I was a kid I used to reload 20ga in my uncles gun shop out back. The first time I went dove hunting I must of shot 2 boxes of shells and didn't hit a feather. I found out years later that my cousins swapped out my dove loads for number 4 shot. Of course it didn't help I was shooting a full choke goose gun

                      Right on, el chivo.

BTW - At 100 yards the 357 is the equal of a 357 pistol at the muzzle.

My 1894c Marlin easily hits 12" diameter paper targets at 200 yards.
