            Please, .45 Colt.
So I was driving home from the range and I noticed that the scent of warm steel, burnt gunpowder and lukewarm coffee combined and smelled oddly of... Peanut butter?! Man, the Hoppe's is going to my head.

Considering you can shoot .38 all day without taking out a second morgage, the answer is pretty easy. Unless you reload I guess, then its a little different.

Yes to all of them 38, 357, & 44. Yes to lever and revolver. Any other questions.

Used to have 44 lever. Presently have Marlin 1894c 357 lever and 357 Ruger Blackhawk. Both shoot 38s great. I can reload 38s for 8 cents a round.

The 357 Lever is much more fun than the 44 mag was. Cheaper to shoot, too.

My next lever will be a 45LC.

                    I say .357

Carbine ballistics from .357 are quite impressive. With a proper bullet it makes a great short range deer loading.

I have a .45 colt m-92 Rossi that is great fun, easy to stash in a kayak, and accurate. Past a hundred yards, the looping trajectory is a problem- I realize .357 May have been a better choice.

My vote is for .357, the ballistics out of an 18" barrel are pretty impressive and you can plink all day with .38s.

Nothing is better then a .44mag , especially if you reload and can cast your own.

Its not even a competition if you look into it. The level of loads you can work out on a .44 is far superior. ..and duh. .its almost a 1/2 ". It will take mans head clean off....do you feel lucky punk?

Only reason to go with .38/.357 is id you dont reload. ..which if you are asking which is better i am betting you dont reload.

Better go with that mouse round .38/.357

If your plinking 38/357. Cheap to shoot, easier to get ammo. If your hunting, 44 hands down.

38/357 awesome out of a revolver

44 mag awesome out of a lever gun.

Wonder if anyone is going to make an AR that shoots 44mag? That would be a ton of fun.
