BLM maps which ones are updated?

So I purchased eight maps using the phone number provided by the BLM website. Each Surface management map was $4.00. The unexpected surprise was that they FedEx them overnight! They didn't charge any shipping or handling or even sales tax.

Here's my list of maps ordered and the dates of the maps:

    Amboy 2009
    Death Valley Junction 1998
    Ivanpah 1998
    Mesquite 1999
    Needles 1999
    Newberry Springs 2008
    Owlshead Mountains 1999
    Soda Mountains 2013

So it looks like most are sixteen years old. Anyone order other maps recently? If so, what are the map's date? Thanks.

    You don't want UP-dated Topo Maps !

Try to find older ones than that .... Older the better IMO. Then, compare them side by side. You'll be amazed and find things (landmarks, old mines, roads etc.) have been deleted on many of the newer topo maps. Case in point: I was browsing topos at a store recently and noticed that many roads and landmarks out near the more remote areas surrounding Death Valley, no longer showed on the map. I KNOW they are there and have driven them many times (and no, they aren't in a newly designated Wilderness or study area).

On one map, they had actually cut out a section and re-pasted it together, deleting a whole section of (desert ) roads, mines, and landmarks, while (as a result) showing other roads as dead-ends, when they actually continue and connect to other roads and routes.

Just be aware of the newer boundaries (National Parks, Wilderness Areas, etc. when using the older maps)

They mark them here in San Diego County. Problem is they are not up to date as all of them are closed to shooting due to the "drought". Check the local office as they will have the latest data.

I know San Bernardino County publishes a Shooting Map. Most of BLM is good to go, but confirm with the local office, as some areas may be closed due to the drought as others have said.
