Probably what I'd do too and when the salesman makes a stink about it your reply is "oh, well based on how the owner of this store did exactly the same thing with MY brand new weapon I just figured it was okay with his stock. Now, can look at that one over there?" And proceed to check out every $1K+ trigger in the case.sigpicand as a check against tyranny." Judge Benitez - March 2019Comment

That's not rude. Rude would be seeing an SSE done that you didn't buy from their store, then telling you that they don't process SSE's and then sending the gun back to the shop you bought it from on your dime.
That would be rude.
What happened to you qualifies as....eyebrow raising, but not worth talking about and certainly not worth making a post on calguns.
Let us know if there is any damage to the gun when you get it out of jail. That would qualify for a discussion.Comment

It's frustrating when 3 or 4 people handle your gun while filling out paperwork and I don't like how turners employees always disappear or handle your gun out of sight. The one that I don't like is when people "cowboy" revolvers. Spin cylinder and whip shut. People that wear rings and handle guns make me nervous. Scratches in the finish. A reason you shouldnt fondle other peoples guns is because you may uncover something that has been broke then you get blamed for it.Comment

I support my local home based FFL, which is a swat team member and police officer. He is also supporting us via 2A, his facebook is quite satire and how we are gimped by the government yet he is governing us. He never dry fires my gun because he already has one, he shows and tells customer guns, but never lets me handle them, just gives suggestions on what is my next SSE or things he thinks are awesome. The only gun he lets me handle is his, and they are all awesome, I was holding a 20 round carbine last time I visited, it was a Springfield .308 Walnut Stock with heat guards, I'm jealous... Anyhow I support him completely as he follows the law, is pro 2A, and never lets people touch my goods, especially in jail =) . Support your local FFL, not Walmart, Turners, or any other corp. It's frustrating when 3 or 4 people handle your gun while filling out paperwork and I don't like how turners employees always disappear or handle your gun out of sight. As one fellow CG stated, he trust his FFL who lives in a garage more than a retailer any day..It's frustrating when 3 or 4 people handle your gun while filling out paperwork and I don't like how turners employees always disappear or handle your gun out of sight. Would I care if a store owner who has handled plenty of firearms dry fired my gun? Not at all, seeing as how I've dry fired plenty of store-owned guns myself.
Would it irk me if the store owner nonchalantly picked up my firearm, fondled with the gun, and dry fired to his heart's content? Yes, of course. It's not like I reach behind their counters, pick up whatever gun I want, and dry fire it.
If I am going to show you, as the store owner some respect, I'd expect the same.Comment
