Somebody must have sold my address and I got US mail from these folks. The letter made it sound very intriguing and worth the subscription. Anyone else have a subscription to this magazine and is it worth it?

Gun Tests Magazine

I use to subscribe years ago. I thought it was a great magazine because they buy the guns off the shelf that they test so the manufacture cant send a doctored up gun to test better than it is. I ended up buying a few diffrent guns after reading there reviews.Keep Smiling!!!! -
Bought a lifetime subscription about 13 years ago.Special offer,$1000 and they sent you a Sig P-220 in .45.
Seemed like a win-win at the time.Still think so.Very informative but, they cover a wide range.Sometimes they test guns I'll never buy or own.Comment

Another big fan here. I read several gun mags out of sheer habit but Gun Tests is the one periodical I would keep if I had to have just one."A vote is like a rifle; it's usefulness depends upon the character of the user." - Theodore RooseveltComment

because they don't accept any advertising from gun manufacturers or anyone, they can tell the truth and give their honest opinion unlike a lot of gun magazines.
plus the guns they test they buy from right off the gun store shelf and not the test guns that have been polished up before they are send from manufacturers for normal gun magazine tests and articles.
I'm glad they're still around.they used to give one free issue when they were a paper only type magazine.
I remember reading it cover to cover when I was younger, even about gun types that I was not interested in (and they cover all types lever action, snub nose, bolt action and just about everything you could imagine).
I would rate it a "would buy"as they put it.
you won't be sorry.Comment

What!
I don't think we'll be seeing that deal again....
Gun tests = consumer reports for guns. Or the public radio of guns.
That's a good thing by the way. Ive got every issue going back three or four years.Comment

We're part of a dying breed.
I still buy motorcycle and gun magazines on occasion. I haven't bought mags as much with the advent of the internet, and I'm a lot more picky about the issues I feel are worth the investment, but I do still acquire several a year.
My son says I'm a dinosaur and that mags are a waste of money.
Whatevs. I love looking back through old issues and finding tests or articles, especially if I stumble across a used gun or piece of equipment I'm considering buying and I know I have a mag with info on it.Comment

Another fan here. Like the name says, it's all about gun tests. No advertising, so they won't fall into the trap of having to appease their advertisers.
You also get access to their old tests on-line.Dave

I subscribed to some of the big name gun magazines for the pretty pictures. Gun Tests is the only magazine that ever has gun reviews where guns fail; I've subscribed for many years.Check back later for a witty comment.Comment

I used to subscribe years ago and really enjoyed the magazine. Stopped subscribing for some unknown reason. I restarted my subscription 2 years ago and plan on continuing. As mentioned, the often test stuff I will never own but is still very interesting to read. A very enthusiastic thumbs up from me!

Its worth the money IMHO
They are honest in their evaluations and they buy their guns off the rack rather than getting something from the manufacturer that they have tuned and polished.
They tell the good and bad of the guns they evaluate.
Wish I'd known about that Sig deal though...sigpicNRA Benefactor MemberComment

As far as I know, Gun Tests has the only reviews of guns that actually report fairly and objectively on problems and failures. They buy guns off the shelf and have no connections or payments from gun manufacturers.
They have a jury of three try each gun, give their opinions and settle on a letter grade, A - F.
All the other gun mags have gun reviews that seem like advertisements.
A few times they have published letters from manufacturers defending their guns after a poor test. So it's pretty fair all around.
I presently subscribe, and have subscribed off and on for years. Looking back I wish I had never let my subscription lapse.
And there is no advertising of any sort in the magazine.Better Way to Search CalGuns - https://www.google.com/cse/home?cx=0...78:pzxbzjzh1zk
