Eh, the only other CA-functioning, CA-legal option on the PS90 is the bullet button "swipe with a credit card" version... and that one destroys the ergonomics by extending the stock.

I prefer the fixed-mag version because at least the stock remains the same, and it's reversible with a screwdriver and a few seconds if you move / visit out of state.

Of course, you can do what I did when I first got mine... leave it disassembled. It's legal that way, no compliance kit installed - and you can use it out of state.

Mostly, I'd just bought mine to make sure I'd get it.

However, it needs to be modified to be CA legal.

      Two methods...
      1. Install a magazine lock and extend the overall length to greater than 30".
      2. Fill in the bullpup stock and extend the overall length to greater than 30".

Also, no magazines greater than 10 rounds can be used while in CA.
To #2... NO. The forward muzzle device is a flash hider and no matter what you do to it, short of cutting it off, it will remain a flash hider.

This bit isn't directed at you, but to potential future responders: Before the typical "waa waa I call it a brake" folks jump in - I bloody own one, and the bloody owner's manual specifically refers to it as a flash hider, which is all that DOJ requires, according to Iggy's own statements.

I heard talk that it was considered a muzzle brake not a flash hinder.

Even FNH USA calls it a muzzle brake on their website.

The extended 16.04" barrel and closed bolt operation give the PS90 outstanding accuracy while recoil is reduced by the integral muzzle brake.

In the owner's manual (I need to get around to scanning it in) it is referred to in more than one place as a "muzzle brake / flash hider". It's a dual function device (like the A2 birdcage, which no one is trying to argue ISN'T a flash hider), and in states which don't care about FH's, it makes sense to call it a brake because then folks understand that it helps with recoil. However, by definition in CA, it's a flash hider - it was marketted as one in the original incarnation, and its design has not changed (to the best of my knowledge) in later versions of the PS90.

The "talk" is mostly from people who are thinking wishfully and think that if they all chant "brake" loud enough, it'll make a difference to the DOJ.
