Don't base your move simply on better gun laws.

If CA instantly had shall carry, standard cap mags, no bullet button, no roster, I would still move.

I'm a business owner. I'm sick of being a sugar daddy.

Amen. 30 years as a SoCal business owner and sometimes I wonder who prospered more - me or the employees.

In 5-7 years I'll be kicking back on lake front property in Estes Park, Colorado (at least that is the plan).

Oh no let me change my plans ebitrely because some guy said something on the internet. I guess I'll just stay in this state because it's not worth moving apparently. Especially since we are allegedly starting to win? What I don't know. Guns aren't my priority in life. I'd rather not get taxed out the *** for everything. Regardless what we win in so called gun rights, this state still sucks on every other level

            You mad bro?

I never made any comment about NOT moving out of this state so not sure why you went that direction with your reply.

Perhaps I should have been clearer (since you obviously missed it) that I was simply talking about missing the boat on the CHEAP housing in Reno/Sparks. As Deadon confirmed in both here as well as his recent thread concerning his own move to that area.

              Forget about Arizona.

              You can't surf in Arizona.

I lived there before coming to California. They have a good system of laws. The people are very independent. Plenty of fresh air and things to do outdoors.

They've even got some good surf spots that are never crowded.

My wife and I both like Alaska but the biggest problem for us is that it's just so darn hard to get anywhere from there.

Roman, there is also Nevada worth looking at at least as a temporary overlay.

I have to agree with Idaho, Montana, and Alaska.

                    Another one might be Texas.
About as friendly to 2A as there is, *lots of jobs*, cheap house prices, plenty of rural areas, plenty of (mostly private) hunting areas/opportunities.

Still very red, Texas is getting bluer by the decade. Idaho/Wyoming are last red States standing one day?

But also remember that works in reverse. It's one of the big advantages of being in Alaska.

We spend a LOT of time in OR. Mainly up in the Yachats through Lincoln City area on the coast.
We have also spend quite a bit of time in John Day area as well as Ashland/Medford.

Medford is becoming more and more liberal all the time. With LOTS a of "undocumented" aliens or at least that what they appear to be.
I would not consider Medford, but just up the road is Grants Pass. Small, and pretty conservative would be my choice.

Further up I-5 you have Roseberg...again....I would not move there, but there are small towns 10-20 miles around that area that would work for me.

OR is a class 3 state, so you can have all the fun toys....SBR's, suppressors, full auto if you have deep pockets, etc.

Two year car registration for around $80. Car insurance based in credit score...this could be good or bad depending on your credit worthiness.
Health insurance about on par with CA when I last looked into it. No sales tax. Gas about 50 cent a gallon cheaper.

Yes, OR is becoming more liberal, but it has a long was to go to catch up to CA.

We will be moving from CA in about 1-2 years, and OR is still on our list, but not 1st on it. Northern AZ and southern ID and maybe UT are probably where we will land.

Being self employed in CA is sucking me dry, so almost anywhere will be better then here.
Bring hay for my horse....wine for my men....and mud for my turtle!

What do you hear ???...... Nothing but the rain. Well grab your gun and bring in the cat.

Get a PO Box and buy an RV or a boat.

We understand that but are not quite ready to simply stay around the homestead.

Any of you guys do your planning based on what you think the country will look like post-SHTF?

Oregon may turn into a ****hole in 10 years. But in 20 years it may be nice again once we have our own country and our freedoms back again. Or we'll all be dead anyway if big brother wins
