Try and buy an auto-sear online. You wont have to go to them, they'll come see you.

Is that because of all the recent-production "Pre-81 Drop-in Auto Sears"?

Obviously, you already did your own homework on manufacturing a CA legal handgun, right? If so, just carry a copy of all applicable laws surrounding your firearm so that the officer in question can easily read them and even look them up for him/herself. Now, if you haven't done your own homework already, you shouldn't have manufactured your own firearm yet.
Thanks for the advise yes I have done my homework. I was gonna do that just print out the laws for an LE in case I was questioned

I would assume contacting ATF would be like calling the IRS... Don't do it lol

Unfortunately, this thread is further evidence of the failure of our public school system in teaching our citizens basic American civics. It's just sad.

Don't take life so seriously. The first two posts were people answering his question directly and providing good advice. Sure, the rest of us could have gone on parroting what the first two posters said, but why? Teaching comes in many forms. Maybe we're simply cluing a fellow gun enthusiast in to the fact that if he improves his spelling and writing style he'll be taken more seriously. That's not a bad thing.

Wait, now I'm confused by your comment...were you referring to the OP or to the rest of us hooligans? Apparently the OP thinks you meant him, and I think you meant us...that's the problem with vague comments.

If you think this "uncivic" behavior of anonymous internet users posting replies in jest of a notoriously disreputable gov't agency is sad, wait til you realize that there are millions of people doing this:

Gee, I thought the point was never to be in contact with the ATF, ever, in your life. Silly me.
