Been thinking about it but is it worth the money and are there any advantages at all?

Yes join!
Firearm insurance is one benefit.
Another benefit is that you can honestly say that you have contributed to the fight of regaining our rights!

I actually use the NRA discounts.
I just used the member discount to rent a car.
Just joining is good enough, yeah the NRA can suck, but they usually come through when we need them.
Where else can you send 25 or 35 bucks to an org and have them personally go to congress and put a boot in someone's ***?
Politics are ugly, the NRA is ugly sometimes. They're pros at it.
Get on board for the big win, we can fight amongst ourselves later.Comment

I always find it interesting when someone questions what is in it for them by joining the NRA. The answer is really simple; first and foremost, NRA members are part of the only national pro 2nd amendment organization that “walks the halls” of congress. The NRA is the Big Dog when it comes to influencing both National and State legislators when it comes to protecting the 2nd amendment.
While NRA members do get some personal tangible benefits in terms of insurance programs and monthly publications, asking “what’s in it for me” is the wrong approach. NRA members should be stating they are proud and happy to financially support an organization that stands as the bulwark in protecting our rights to “keep and bear arms”.
The answer to “what’s in it for me” is your continued right to keep and own firearms. To paraphrase President Kenney, ask not what the NRA is doing for me, but what am I doing for the NRA?
I am proud to say that I am a life benefactor member of the NRA.
Yes, you should join.Last edited by 003; 11-12-2014, 6:52 PM.Comment

Even if you don't care for the mailings or use any of the benefits, it is STUPID to consider not supporting the MAJOR force in protecting our 2A rights given the political climate in this State/Country.
For the same reason ALL Cali gun owners should also join the CA Rifle and Pistol Association.
