I've been washing my hands extremely well following all of my recent trips to the range for fear of bringing excess lead into the house for my preggo wife to be exposed to.

Your wife, your life do what you want.

For me, no way am I taking any chances with my progeny.

That is probably why I turned out with loving the smell of gun powder and cleaner....

Absolutely no ill effects that I notice from my Mom shooting whilst I was in utero......

Yeah, I wonder why it is even an issue. Why take the chance, even if the known facts are inconclusive?

My wife was told that it was OK during the 1st & 2nd trimesters. The baby can hear during 3rd trimester so shooting is not advised, per her doctor.

First trimester is very important for the fetus' development and health. Why introduce heavy metal and risk having mental or birth complication? It'll be safer to go to an outdoor range that is not very busy. Avoid shooting next to someone shooting cast bullets if the wind is blowing all that gray smoke towards your wife.

Indoor ranges warn of Lead from AIRBORNE lead from chemicals in the PRIMERS of most ammo....not the bullets.

The "clean ammo" they push for indoor shooting is lead bullets, but lead free PRIMERS.

Lead hurts growing children more because it chemically mimics calcium which growing animals absorb at much higher rate in order to grow bones...then the lead does other bad things.

They say lead paint is still one of biggest health risks to kids.

IMO much of the problem is the symptoms are so vague: upset stomach, irritability, low intelligence, and they can come and go, so every kid has them all a dozen times a day with or without lead poisoning.

Also it is impossible in most cases to figure out where the kid got the lead from.

PS-$10 says your doctor doesn't know about the airborne lead from ammo primers. I don't know if it can settle on clothing and if you can 'bring it home' that way.

Thanks. Except I wasn't asking for advice I was asking if anyone had ever seen a preggo shoot. Preferably with pics lol

Another fine example of how suppressors are good. It's for the children after all.

I've seen people post about their wives going to shoots till 8 months.

I personally wouldn't reccomend or let my wife and child do that. Not sure of any scientific good or bad. But not where I want my wife and child to be.
