What attributes? It looks like a bleak, desolate wasteland to me.

But I did enjoy my trip to the Mustang Ranch back in the day.

Washington, Oregon, now that I could see.

Trust me leaving your wife and child to go out of state to start a new job is tougher than staying and "Fighting, the good fight". You don't get big rewards if you never take big chances!
I have spent over half a century here in CA. And yes, there are some cool things about the state. But not nearly enough to keep me here anymore. My wife and I are at the start of plans of moving out also. You are correct; it is much more difficult to move than to stay, especially for a life long resident as myself. But we've seen and had enough.

And hanko is absolutely spot on; my complete disdain for CA has little to do with 10 rd mags, bullet buttons, the roster, and the rest of the BS we deal with. I suspect those who say "stay & fight the good fight" are comfortable with a leftist government that will "let them" keep some firearms stuff and still tax the stuffing out of 'em, and insert more and more restrictive laws impacting everyday life. My wife and I loathe this state now. It has been forever ruined and I see no chance of it getting back to normal. CA needs to hit rock bottom before any kind of change might happen. And I don't want to be around when that happens.

This is spot on! This is the main reason for our move. We need to break the chain for our daughters sake. They just keep on driving business out and spending money on BS.

Why is it I can drive a 1hr 1/2 and pay no state tax, better schools, cheaper DMV, Cheaper tickets, better roads, and the list goes on. Thats not including firearm laws.

We are done! We will make 200.00 per month just on state tax!

Why was this "I'm leaving California" thread opened up in the "General Gun Discussions" subforum?

Reynolds v. Sims doomed this state to where we are at today.

"I think our governments will remain virtuous for many centuries; as long as they are chiefly agricultural; and this will be as long as there shall be vacant lands in any part of America. When they get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, they will become corrupt as in Europe."

I am a CA Native (1959) and can remember Cali: pre-Dem super majority, pre-roster, pre-10 day, pre-PPT, pre-EBT, pre-CARB, pre-speed limits outside of metropolitan areas, pre-illegal sanctuary cities now state, etc, etc.

Looks to me that the going isn't tough....it's GONE. The only fight left now is a delaying action over how long it will take before EVERYTHING is gone. But hey the weather's great and the babes are hot so who cares right?

Congrats OP, though having been to WA I would prefer a less rainy location myself. If all goes well we are retiring in 10 months and are looking for places to move ourselves. If only 29 Palms was in AZ or NV so we could stay here.
I added state since good o'l Brown invited Mexico here. this state is a loss. I remember what Steve here said pre 10 day wait being able to ride in the back of a pickup.

I will not be retiring here period. this state can shove it.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

                        Yeah congrats, ex-Californian.

The cut an run thing is great, except for family, that's the toughest of all to conquer, as leaving the people you love behind.

We all know to well we can come back and visit them, we also know how that go's...the farther the harder, the longer between visits.

But still congrats, I wish it were easier for me to do what you have done...

Lots of success! We've been looking for jobs there for 5 months now!

Know any good tech/engineering recruiters? Please send them my way!

We are all packed and ready to leave this crap hole!!

And yes, I believe OR & WA will be the next CA's - sad to say...OR is considered north northern CA now anyway...

Good for you, I was born and raised and spent most of my life in Calif. I retired and "escaped" when no one was watching the border. People don't leave just because of the gun insanity they leave for the over all picture of whats happened in Calif. As well as the fact that the fight for guns and hunting there is OVER. Once you get over the shock of escaping that prison camp you'll realize you should have done it years ago. Let those that want to stay stay and enjoy their utopia. I do feel sorry for those that for a good reason cant get out. Your about to find out that there is a lot more to this world than Fresno Calif.
