I have done multiple PPT's at Guns Direct. A lower, a long rifle, and two handguns. I never had an issue, and the customer service was always top notch. After my first time there I never went anywhere else again.

I actually miss Guns Direct now that I'm living in NorCal. Phil, Mike, Liz, and Lon are always awesome. Sorry for your bad experience OP.

I've only done 2 transactions in the past at Guns Direct.... 1 PPT (I was the seller) and I bought a gun from them.

Both times were pleasant for me and things moved quickly without any issues. Albeit it was also on a Monday & Tuesday morning around 11:30am so there really wasn't much traffic in there, not like if were a Saturday or Sunday. So maybe that played a factor in how they treated me.

Sucks to hear so many negative things about them. They're not my go-to shop in any means, just one that I used in the past that was close to DTLA for me.

The bad ones are usually made up of guys with an interest in firearms, so they thought they would make that their living, without first considering that they would also have to interact with people and please customers to keep things going.

Following the request of a fellow calgunner, I spoke with Mike at Guns Direct over the phone this afternoon. Mike turned out to be the gentleman who had refused to PPT the 2 colt revolvers. He was very friendly. He graciously offered to PPT the revolvers if I still needed it. I felt the offer was sincere.

As to why they refused to PPT the revolvers. Honestly, I had a difficult time following the rationale. From what I understood, they had a previous situation involving a PPT of a very large number of guns. The buyer was rejected, and the seller had to return to get the guns but didn’t live close by so some time passed. Something about the seller then had to go to the sheriffs to pick up then guns as the 30 days period was up and…long story short, the seller was very unhappy with the store/owner. As a result, and to protect future sellers from a similar hassle, the owner didn’t want to PPT multiple guns. Mike also mentioned something about the old forms for multiple PPTs being more work but that has changed. Never the less, Mike said they had discussed the situation among themselves and would be more accommodating going forward on multiple guns.

Long story short, while I don’t follow the logic/rationale of the explanation, I do appreciate their effort to take customer feedback, make adjustments and better service our community.

Thanks for making the effort to clear things up and relaying that info here. Hats off to you for doing that as it takes time and energy. Your approach is definitely commendable.

I think they made a mistake, realized it (whether on their own and/or through your help) and tried/promised to fix it.

At least they answered and made a sincere offer to fix the situation...unlike OakTree Gun Club who doesn't have the balls to even answer to their charges.
