these are the closest to me at exactly 5.9 mi each way.. I don't have much of an occasion to shoot what they prohibit anyway so I shoot at both out of convenience..

    Prohibited Ammunition
Wolf, Bear, Tula, Bi-Metal, Frangible, Aluminum Case, Steel Case and Steel Core ammunition of ANY caliber is strictly PROHIBITED at the range. Shotguns must use slugs only. No buck or bird shot allowed. As a general rule, Muzzle Energy over 4000 Ft Lbs will not be permitted at the range.

8.) NO STEEL JACKET OR STEEL CORE AMMUNITION. NO SEMI-JACKETED AMMUNITION. ALL AMMUNITION MUST BE FULL METAL JACKET OR LEAD. NO WOLF,WPA OR TULA AMMUNITION ALLOWED.
I started out with nothing - and I still have most of it

Any person, employee or no, that bumped me with a broom on the firing line would get a stern talking to. If it was a customer, the range officer would be involved as well. If it was an employee, the manager would get a stern talking to as well.

      That's a major safety issue.

I've had the opposite experience more than once - RO sweeping up everywhere, except meticulously avoiding the brass accumulating in my little area. And these are places known for brass-snatching ROs and/or the "your brass is our brass" rule. But they know me already or else I nicely ask beforehand. It pays to be polite to people. (I'm not saying you aren't polite, only saying that's what works for me)

A RO at FT3 told me they had a couple small fires start do to tula ammo. I found it hard to believe a fire can start with cement walls AR500 ceiling.

It only takes a minute to sort out steel cases with a magnet. But, you're right, most brass ends up going to recyclers instead of being reloaded like so many here seem to think.

If FT3 is an indoor range(I'm assuming it is since you mentioned a ceiling), you do realize that there is un-burnt powder down range, shotgun wads, bits of paper and cardboard from targets, possibly a rubber backstop, etc. right?

Reading this gives me another reason to be glad I don't live in the urban cesspools.

Out here I shoot anything I want at our outdoor members range for $60 a year.
