    Buying Guns online

Hey guys thinking of buying a gun online from gun broker. Seeing if anyone has ever bought a gun and had a good experience. Or is it just better to go to a local gun store. My problem is the local gun store can never get the guns I want because they are on back order. Then I look at gun broker and there are plenty of them. Need guidance from a Jedi master.

I transfer plenty of firearms purchased on-line. Seldom do my customers have any issues unless they buy something that is not legal in CA. If you are uncertain about the legality contact your FFL first.

I have bought guns online and if you stick with reputable sellers you won't get burned. Check with your ffl if you have any questions in regards the legality of the gun you want to transfer.

I've bought several guns from Gun Genie and several from Top Gun Supply, with no problem at all. My brother has also bought from a dealer off of Gun Broker. You just need to know who you're dealing with and also have trust in your local FFL. You even still have time for a SSE purchase.

I have purchased quite a few firearms online. All transactions went well. It is a good idea to talk with the seller to make sure he/she will ship to CA, and also talk with your FFL to make sure they are comfortable with the transfer. And as already noted, make sure the item can be legally transferred in CA.

True. Personally, I prefer buying online as prices are WAAAAY better and I dont have to wait in line or hear FUD from some gun salesman. With that said, I became a fan when I was in TX. In TX you dont pay sales tax or a DROS so I could buy 3 guns, and my FFL would only charge me $50 (usually $20/gun but he gave me discounts when I did multiples in one order). And I could pick them in as soon as they arrived.

Here in CA, you gotta do the 10 day wait, and it usually takes aobut 5-10 days for guns purchased online to get to your FFL so in total it takes almost a month just to take possession. But at least you can order what you want (usually at a much better price than what you'd pay if your LGS was selling it). The hardest part is finding an affordable FFL. I found one who only charges $65 which includes DROS.

i too have purchased online and shipped to my ffl w/ zero problems. i've nvr used gunbroker tho so can't comment on that. my best advice is to look for the online vendors on CG's. can't go wrong w them. what is it exactly you're looking for?

No problems here. My second SSE is being shipped from a Gun Broker FFL as we speak. As geoint says shop around your local gun stores to see who offers the best pricing in transfer/handling/sse fees.

Stick with a reputable retailer. You will find that the selection is much better online and prices are way better. The LGS has a massive markup indeed.

Call the FFLs you plan on using first and check the transfer fees...sometimes that sweet deal you found online won't be that sweet after you get slapped with taxes and transfer fees.

Just make sure you understand the difference between a proper store and an auction site. When you are on gun broker, the reputation you have to look at is the reputation of the gun store from which you'll be purchasing, not the reputation of the gun broker site itself.

I've never had a problem, but I also always made sure it was an established store from which I was purchasing.

I bought online a lot because I like C&R pistols. I got lesser guns than thought because I could not handle them before buying. Ask for good pics and verify seller the best you can. Over all I got better deals and guns I could not fine in my area. New guns I would buy local.

Otherwise you may lose money and get something you don't want or worse - get nothing!

I've bought several guns on-lines (mostly C&R rifles and 1 muzzle-loading pistol) and never had a problem.

Bottom line: Do your research before you buy!

I own over a dozen firearms. Never bought ONE from a Gun Store.

other than a few boxes of ammo and a gun case, I havent bought anyhting from a gun store. I can barely stand to set foot in one.

I never trusted it but finally bought my first GB gun last week.

Only place that had the actual gun I needed, so far the transaction went smoothly. Should be shipped to my FFL tomorrow and I'll be able to speak on my entire transaction.

Only downside is the payment/shipping does take a bit of time. Looking at about a 4 week turn around since original purchase once 10 day is over and its psychically in my possession and hands.
