It's an LA city thing not county.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

There's volumes you could write about some of the former managers at Turners at Reseda that you guys don't have any idea about. I'm not flaming you but you haven't been around long enough or have been to as many gun stores.

no, no I'm not trying to draw a map here or quote la law. I've seen the map and its weird how they write up the borders with holes everywhere, and law wise, i'm only going by what i learn from gunstores and shooting ranges. I've bought ammo from 3 big 5 stores(west hills, northridge, granada hills), turners reseda, and firing-line northridge, and each one of them require a signature and thumb print. Over in glendale, and burbank they dont bother as far as ive seen.

The Turners in San Marcos is barren as well. I have a very bad feeling for this california gun shop , there here today but.............
              Truly a sad situation
California needs Turners regardless of all the folks who are not fans.
I am very concerned in why the are failing ,seems that they should suceed as the foot traffic is always there! Pray for them .

This keeps them going on in the face of poor stocking of the shelves and crappy customer service.

Your average person that wants to buy a gun is not going to travel to OC or something from Reseda area to do so.
I did a PPT at Turner's in Reseda. Kinda sucked that they didn't explain the lock thing to me and automatically just sold me a more expensive lock without asking me if I had a safe or a lock. When I picked up the rifle 10 days later, they just gave me a lock cuz they couldn't find the one they had me purchase. I went home and called another Turner's and found out it was about half the price of what I had paid for. I eventually got it exchanged but it was extra time and effort (I took the bus from work). Nice enough to me when I'm there though...mean to others.

By the way, I drove down with the gf to Ade's Gun Shop in OC last weekend to buy a gun. Line and a wait, but the staff was really helpful and considerate and didn't try to slip in $10 gun locks.

The thumbprint stuff is L.A. CITY, not L.A. County ordinance. Not required anywhere else in the County. It's why online ammo people won't ship to LA City. I have no problem with that here in Redondo.

i really need to look at a map to find out what the whole deal is now. I tend to get conflicting information about this from the shooting ranges i go to, and i thought i had it figured out finally. maybe i'll just order some ammo online and find out for sure that way, been meaning to get some surplus ammo.

In LA City, thumb print on pistol ammo purchases. I don't remember having to do that when I bought shotgun shells. The people selling ammo in LA City have to get a special permit to sell ammo. LA City one gun a month and that doesn't matter if it is private party. This might only apply to handguns.

If you buy a handgun or PPT in the state you cannot buy another handgun in Los Angeles City for 30 days. If you buy a handgun in LA City you may still PPT a handgun in the rest of the state.

I am not sure if this includes long guns.

Thieves are the lowest form of life out there, except for liberal politicians, of course, but that's redundant.

Heard from an industry insider that Turners is on credit hold with MANY suppliers. He claimed they owed so many people, and were not paying their bills, that they were being cut off all over the place.

His projection was that they would close by February, if not before.

Being a little nostalgic, Turners was the first shop I visited upon arriving here in CA. Though I don't go there any more due to poor help and advice, it is a seems to be a good business model to have "Sportsman's" items in the same store rather than segregated.
