    Turner's in Reseda

So I was in Reseda today and stoped by the Turners there and the place is looking kinda empty, lots of open space on the display shelves, and somethings don't seem to be getting restocked.
Anyone know what is going on? Even the gun display was light on pieces to look at.

Just a guess but maybe they are restocking for deer season. It runs Oct. 11 - Nov. 11.

I had to go there to exchange a broken Shimano rod and they did not have the same one or one close to it for that matter. I asked when they were getting more in stock and the guy said "I dont know they just send us stuff at random". Then I asked him to check some other Turners to see if they had one and not one had the rod. This is a very popular rod and is carried by most fish & tackle shop. I just dont get how they make it.

Because Reseda Turners has a captive market of sorts, many people are territorial in ways especially in days of $3.50 gas and it is one of very few places in LA city that sell handguns.

This keeps them going on in the face of poor stocking of the shelves and crappy customer service.

Your average person that wants to buy a gun is not going to travel to OC or something from Reseda area to do so.

            hhhm. odd

Maybe they are going to remodel their security setup after the little problem in Redondo Beach.

Some managers at some of the stores don't know how to run a gunshop. The Reseda store had good managers in the past and they moved on to other Turners stores, and the best ones went to the LAPD Academy (LAPRAAC) gunshop. Maybe that is the reason. I went to the reseda store last week and the sales guy didn't know a lot about precedures on certain issues. I had to talk to manager to resolve it.

Oh, buy the way, does anyone know why Turners does a strange thing? When they list the serial numbers of the used or consigned guns on their web site, they list the last half of the serial numbers for the most part, not the front half. The numbers are meaningless. The first half of the s/n at least gives me an indication on age or other info relating to the particular gun. I have told them about it before, but I guess they don't really care.

I quit going to Turners several years ago. The clerks were rude. There was no normal conversations, just dead pan answers to my questions. I got the distinct feeling the employees did not want to be there. I tried several different Turners and they all seemed to have the same attitude. So I kissed them off. The current situation may be the result of poor customer relations over time.

Do you go to the sportsman store over by Costco? I'm in Lancaster and was thinking of checking them out, how well are they stocked, and all that crap.

Been there once. It is a mere shadow of the Bass Pro Shops for mechandise and guns. About 20% of the store is guns, reloading, shooting stuff. No used guns. Some reloading stuff including 8 lb jugs of powder(!). A few items on the shelf of the most popular items only.

I refused to go back because they don't take checks. I don't do business with local merchants that won't take my check. It infuriates me that they will suffer a 2% or 3% cost to themselves for credit card sales but not install a check verification system like Auto Zone uses where the check is processed and returned to you at the cash register.

The travel all the way to Victorville for you is probably not worth the trip. The Bass Pro Shops is more interesting. More to see for you and your family plus food and boats, too. I seriously doubt that Sportsman Warehouse will last in Victorville, but who knows for sure? I do 90% of my purchases via the internet. I get the best prices even when you factor in the shipping and especially if the supplier is from out of state (no tax).

YES when Don left it fell apart. I like Kyle and Eric, Chris, Joe is OK. don't know the others very well. Most of the guys there just hang out around the counter staring off into space not much help.

The newer employees at Reseda suck.

Oh yea...Natalie is always nice and greets me by name whenever I'm there.

The A-holes, new employees, behind the gun counter don't even know my name after purchasing a gun a month for the last 2 years.

Please excuse the thread jack, but this is somewhat poignant.

My friend picked up some ammo a few weeks ago, and said he had to give a thumbprint for it. I've bought ammo at the Turner's in West Covina, and at other stores for that matter, and didn't need to give a thumbprint. Any reason why?

turners reseda is in la county borders so it has to follow la county rules. the finger print thing is normal. check out the turners website catalog and whenever you see a compact pistol, it will always say not available in reseda.
