The 2A community has shown itself to be resilient and flexible, in terms of capitalizing on situations that, on their face, have seemed to be "losses". Oftentimes, it's been us who've laughed last.

In that vein, I choose to be optimistic that the linkup between CFG and Ares will turn out to be a good thing.

I've supported the 2A movement with money and sweat equity.

I am contributor #1...long before it was considered "cool".

I'll continue to do my part to advance our rights.

I see supporting this partnership as worthy.

I find it funny that if anyone disagrees or doesn't fully support the tactics of Ares they are now labeled anti gun to an extreme.

Again I actually don't mind, I'm sure both parties have some interest in this "merger" if you will, I personally would like to see how it turns out. I still can't say I support the Ares tactics, but the fact they are fighting for what we need and the same common goal, I can back that.

The "Joint Press release" speaks volumes. A coordinated/conditional agreement. I may be wrong, but it appears to me like a business investment and nothing more. Marketing and damage control. Pure motives don't require tooting of one's own horn to open the wallet. Probably an effective marketing move, though, from the sounds of things.

Normally on this forum it is quite the opposite. People are not normally allowed to comment in support of us without being called shills etc.

They just have to wait until Brown is no longer in office. It'll be back sometime in the near future and next time I expect it to go into law.

That's kind of where I stand. I dislike how he treats people, the things he says, and how he goes about business and communication...but in the end, that doesn't really matter. I appreciate the financial support, and I appreciate the spearhead in to the heart of DOJ BOF. I just hope that the risks he takes are guided by cool heads and well planned out litigious planning.

So we can blame you for it then? I mean, clearly you aren't out there doing anything to stop it. It will be your fault if it does make it through the second time around...

The fact is that we brought this to light and refused to willingly turn over our database. On top of that we have spent almost 100k now fighting to get the information to be ordered destroyed by a court.

had we turned it over to the Feds you would be clueless... We didn't take the deal. Makes you wonder how many companies have been faced with a similar situation and did take the deal though doesn't it.
Oh? So it's a lie that armed ATF agents went into your store, demanded your ENTIRE customer list, and you just handed it over to them like the obedient sheep that you are? The ONLY thing that they had any right to look at was your FFL books, not your ENTIRE CUSTOMER LIST for the polymer 80%'s, which you handed over without too much of a fuss. So not only do you screw over your customers on ordering stuff, you also purposely wave a middle finger at the ATF and Sacramento, daring them to do anything against you while saying you'll resist them until the very end, and when that end comes, you roll over on people that were supporting your business.

Tell me what I got wrong, because from everything I've seen in the news, Calguns, and talking with various people, it's a pretty spot-on analysis.

Well, minus the obvious sarcasm, it really IS Ares' fault. Home builds, build parties, etc had been around a very long time before Ares had the stupid idea to advertise a "non-traceable (IE: ghost)" gun and for cheap too! Now anyone can get one and the politicians don't know who has an AR15.

What the hell was Ares thinking? Did they HONESTLY think that there wouldn't be backlash from Sacramento for this idea? That some Senator wouldn't try to find a way to make them illegal in their constant quest to get rid of all guns in CA? Or was Ares just so driven by the idea of profits that they didn't care that they were screwing over the rest of CA gun owners by doing this? Who knows, but Ares's actions sure as hell point to that.

Not really. Brown veto'd it because he believes that it would be challenged in the courts and lost, and he has a habit of not signing legislation that would cause this to happen. That he didn't sign SB808 means little; all it takes is for Sacramento to be patient, and do it again when another anti-2a Governor comes into power in a couple of years, and then homebuilders are right back at square one again, except this time it won't get veto'd, and then yes, it WILL be Ares' fault, because we can squarely lay the blame at their feet (see previous paragraph).

You obviously have no clue about what you speak.

First... We dont have an FFL. Second they came with a warrant and they took everything... They were handed nothing. Third, WITHOUT A FUSS???? we filed a RESTRAINING order against them for christs sake.

I don't know if you are aware of what a search warrant is... But if they have a search warrant you do not hand them anything. They search and they take.

I am sure since you are so educated on the topic that you remember seeing the videos of them using sledge hammers to break into our safes... etc... That doesn't look like they are being handed a thing.

Did you want us to get into a shootout with them????
