Good luck trying to buy credibility. I'm glad you supported CGF but doing press releases is simply a way to pat yourself on your back and draw attention to yourself. CGF will use the money and I wish them success but honestly, your relationship with CGF doesn't build CGF up. It cheapens it!

Would you prefer that we work against each other?

I appreciate that you guys do what you think is right (or at least within the legal boundaries - yes there is a fine distinction here, but an important one). I also appreciate that you are willing to own and fight the legal and PR battles your actions bring. But, as stated many times on here, a lot of people find many of your actions questionable at best. Unfortunately, even among some gun owners, there is a sense that your company is toxic.

While I appreciate that you're providing financial support to the Calguns Foundation, I have to wonder if the perception that the Calguns Foundation is somehow partnering with you might not be damaging to their image.

I hope that I am wrong and this PR move is good for both organizations... time will tell.

Thoughts on this... Our active customer database is actually larger than the active users on this site.

We plan to bring not only our direct support but also indirectly by showing our supporters that CGF is not a pushover non-profit. That they are actually willing to fight.

I meant I was trolling earlier; sorry for the miscommunication.

As for calguns and ares, I say keep up the fight...

Sometimes you have to push the boundaries to know/clarify where they are and set precedents for the future.

Just be careful that new precedents fall on the right side of the line...

Is this the same database that ATF took when they shoulder rolled through the door? And how many of these customers are CA residents - because generally speaking, the ones who aren't could give a jot about what happens here.

The firearm community loves to tear itself apart from within. The damage caused from internal bickering is far greater than any damage caused by external sources.
Doesn't matter if it's "dead and yesterday's news" or not. What matters is that solely because of Ares Armor putting up that billboard, we were forced to contend with the provisions of 808, had it passed. What does matter is that not only are they aware of a section of our hobby that we enjoy, but they (the Anti's) were actively working to legislate it away. That they failed in their first attempt means little; we know that they're going to keep trying and trying and trying until they manage to get another SB808 passed. And when that happens, it will be the fault of Ares Armor.

You cannot compare what the gays did in coming out of the closet compared to us for a couple of reasons. One: they had the support of powerful people both financially, politically, and socially. Two: they didn't have politicians actively trying to take away their existing civil rights; we do.
