Mig 21s and mandatory military service? Israel?
How is the grib size of the 227 tacops compare to other Sigs? The more I look at pictures of 227 tacops, the more I want one.

Mig 21 and mandatory military service= Israel, USSR and all ex communist countries. In my case- Bulgaria. The land of Arsenal factory 10 and AK47. They do not make them like the old days, too bad!

Teasing guns results in bad karma. But don't worry, you only get one bad year per dry fire.

Unfortunately, since Obama has been such a good firearms and ammo salesman it would appear that several companies are having quality control problems that are typical of ramped up production.

Widely advertised opinion is that if you dry fire SP101 this will improve the creeping of the trigger. "Teasing" of rightly build gun will not harm the firearm. For years, the only cleaning I was doing to the AK47 was dumping it in a barrel of jet fuel for 10 seconds. Then you shake it, shoot once just for good measure and you are GTG. And it was going like this for years...

You may be right about the ramp up production and quality control. So the million $ question is- who did not ramp up production? Or who did not slack on QC? I am all open to suggestions /no Arsenal AK please, I am done with those/.

If I ever deside to sell a gun /I have never sold one and not planing on/, you will be the first one to know. The guns will be the very last item I will sell if I need $. Never sell a gun!

My p227 had an out of spec barrel from the factory. Sig blamed me for it but fixed it anyway. I will no longer be buying sig. The e2 grip on the 227 is comparable to the 226 but feels extremely cheap i hate it.

The P227 and P227 tacops have different gribs, material and all.

I do not know what was the reason the extractor to break. When the gun comes back, I will videotape the first few shots. Some of this shots will include firing with no magazine. I will run at least 500 rounds the first time I get her out, it better be with no problems.
So far Sig customer service has been great, will see how this one will go.

I'm very surprised and sorry to hear of your troubles, OP. I own 5 Sig pistols (a P220 .45 Stainless, 2x P229 .40s, a P230 .380 Stainless, and a P320 .40 that makes bail tomorrow) and the first four listed haven't given me a moment of trouble other than the P229s not digesting Winchester white box FMC ammo very well.

Well, I buy all my guns based on reliability reviews.
The Ruger SP101 is "build like a tank and will outlast any of us"- it lasted 2 minutes.
The 22/45 "eats any kind of ammo, very reliable"...
The Sigs are great, "fit and finish, reliability..."

Next purchase will be 227 Tacops 'Great new addition", Then HK45 "boringly reliable" and Scar 16S "Got the best of AK and AR and incorporated it in the same modern platform".

Will see, the future will tell...

Impossible, Sigs can survive a nuclear apocalypse.

I'll stick with the 941's, The C9, The Boberg XR9 and the Tauruses.

Update regarding Sig repair/ship time- gun shipped on 16th, received back yesterday /23rd/. Extractor replaced, test fired at the factory, all OK.

Will take the gun to the range tomorrow to check her out.

NIKSD, if you ever have another Sig problem, PM me. There's not much that can happen to these excellent guns that I can't fix. I've been doing it for 25+ years now. And that includes the new E2 slides, SRT's, sights, trigger jobs, short triggers, broken take down levers, etc., etc., etc. Maybe I can save you a shipment to the factory!

They really are magnificent guns. We have over 1200 of them in inventory here at PD. And, believe me, we beat the hades out of them and they work.
