Use grease on the slide. Let the slide fly back. Shoot few hundred rounds and will get better.

Most of the time its just extractor tension getting a hold of the case. Normal on guns that tilt more during barrel articulation. Will smooth out with some live fire.

Grease? I don't know if you are messing with me or not because I have never heard of putting grease in the slide. I always put Hoppes lubricating oil.

By the way, do new handguns normally come lubricated or dry? The reason I ask is because my USP came lubricated while the PPQ did not. Anything seem fishy there or is it the choice of the gun companies?

I'm not messing with you. Use grease (not a lot) in the groove where the slide rides on the frame. You can use oil in a pinch but it won't work as well or last as long.

I tried to duplicate that on my PPQ and couldn't do it. After a few hundred rds on your gun I'm sure it will fix itself.

Like others have said don't ease the slide forward let it slide forward with the full force. Grease on the rails wouldn't hurt either. The gun should loosen up a bit after a few hundred rounds. Have fun!!

Never "cycle" live ammo in your gun unless you are someplace where it can go off and not harm anything like a range. Certainly never do it at your home.

Then how do you chamber a round at home and clear it when you want to unload it?

You need to find a safe direction for this. Simply playing with a gun cycling it like a fool isn't acceptable.
