Dude. It raises the rate of fire, reduces friction, and makes it easier for debris to fall out and keep the system running smoother, brah!

        Looks cool.

And some engineer probably had fun designing it. It's a civilian rifle, there are no requirements for sensibility.
So I was driving home from the range and I noticed that the scent of warm steel, burnt gunpowder and lukewarm coffee combined and smelled oddly of... Peanut butter?! Man, the Hoppe's is going to my head.

Sometimes you just want to have the best. Down to every little detail. Even though most of them are gemics that won't do very much other than "look cool". Last year I spent $1600 on building a target 10-22 not a single Ruger part on it. I would want that bolt carrier If I was building an AR. just to shed every gram possible. To keep the weight down for SAWC.

I trust Rainier Arms. It looks cool. I'd imagine it's a lot more expensive than a standard BCG, so I would definitely pass

Some customize cars. Others customize guns.

At least it helps the economy.

It's just marketing; a way to differentiate your stuff from the rest of the market. Look at the fan boie vendors and how they tell you everything possible about what it's made from, heat treatment, surface treatments, unique configuration, and so on. They're trying to give you a reason to buy theirs instead of the competition. They really don't want to compete on price, no profits doing that.

I like that this thread is intermingled with a hundred threads talking about how rad their featurelss rifles and kydex wraps look.
