30 rounds - $150.00 per range session, I think it is do-able. Twice a month - $300.00..Hmmm Good enough for me if there is the rifle available. :-)

Why are some of you jumping all over the OP's arse? (Maybe not literary, but you should get my point) He was just sharing a positive experience shooting with a newer round that probably most of us have never even seen in person.

Thank you dadoody for sharing and I'm glad that you had a goodtime doing it.

the instructions on the computerized scope say to zero at 25 yards and then at 100 yards and after that you just type in the distance and the computer moves the crosshairs. not a waste of money.

I think his point was 100yds isn't exactly the gauge of a rifle whose role is to shoot beyond 1000 yds... into the 1600yd range.

Word is that it's not yet up to snuff - there's a lot of development to go.

The .50BMG hit the paper, but it took two more shots to walk it up into the 10 ring. The .416 hit it on the first. Now, I'm not going to say that he could do it EVERY time, but it's still impressive to say the least.
Doping the wind with one rifle to make a shot with a differant rifle isn't a true cold bore shot. Not bad shooting though, but it could have been done firing them the other way too. Just depends on which round you want to sell.

I thought I saw that on an episode of Futureweapons We all know how accurate that show is

I wouldn't mind getting the .416 if I was rich. I heard it uses a specially developed powder and I'm sure its a barrel burner.

The 416 is an awsome rifle, but how much is ammo going for it today?

I've fired one myself. Those muzzle brakes are highly effective. Felt like I was only shooting a .30-06. I'm not up for $8 per round though.....handloading would be the only way to roll.

And if I was going to build a rifle for sniping, it'd be a 20MM Anti-Material Rifle.

I would love to take one of those deer hunting. Sure, it might be unethical, but how else is one to practice their long-range marksmanship on a living target without a felony charge?

There was an article in AR that had people hunting antelope or something with a .416. it's an effective round, so I don't see how it'd be unethical.

Wrong word choice... unsportsmanlike... maybe? As long as there is meat in the freezer...
