If I had one, I would.

I have some issues with organized religion (including our church), but it just spurs me to discuss my questions with Bible thumpers (quite vigoriously sometimes). But there are problem children out there who will take it many steps farther.

As a matter of fact, we were in service a couple of weeks back when I sensed someone standing in the aisle over my shoulder (I was sitting on the end of the row) during the middle of the sermon. It was a young 20-something kid just standing there. Suddenly, he says very loudly to the pastor, "I need to say something to you." His arms were crossed with his hands under his jacket.

My mental alarm bells started going off at this point, and I actually eased my knife out of my pocket and palmed it (but didn't unfold it). I didn't let that kid get out of my range of vision until one of the ushers met him and walked him out to the lobby.

If I ever had any questions about wearing a weapon in church, that situation answered them for me. It turned out to be nothing more than an outspoken kid with questions, but it could have been so easy for it to have been something else.
My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.

It's because I was disappointed with your choice of a weapon.

I thought it's clear - God would want us to carry the gun that Moses designed - the 1911.

I thought there was a law on the books in California that made carrying a loaded handgun into a church illegal?

I would CCW to a church. Then again I also take a piece with me when I go to take a crap.

I do. Unfortunately, there are many stalker types out there who look at pastors as some sort of celebrity.
