      All legal

I do everything buy the book, I always use Turners Outdoors for the transfer $35, and make sure I am inside the gun store.

I just do not see this member in the members list.

I've done transactions with low post members, better to talk on the phone with them before meeting.

We have a lot of lurkers here. It wouldn't surprise me if a guest lurker found something he wanted to buy and joined so he could PM the seller.

Of course, proceed with caution (no i trader rating) and follow the law.

Then you probably have nothing to worry about.

I have little doubt there are stings involving Calguns. Probably a great place to weed out dumbasses and maybe the occasional real criminal.

I rarely post and I've bought. Multiple firearms through calguns, you can still be involved and be low poster

don't let them to come to your house to inspect the firearm first.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

Plenty of Calguns members never post anything; they are here purely for the Marketplace.

There are other firearms forums that require a specific amount of posted contributions before they are eligible to use the classified sections.

I've spoke on a phone with a member who had low post etc etc when trying to sell a marlin 795 last year, kept insisting we cash and carry, I kept telling him to meet at a FFL for a ppt or I'm walking away. Needless to say I walked away, ended up doing a ppt to another law abiding member on Here

If everything your selling is kosher why does it matter?

Just make sure you meet in a well viewed public area, and get cash before they get the gun. If you have doubts just don't do it. Better safe than sorry.

We all start somewhere. The problem with requiring a specific number of posts before having access to the marketplace is you could have someone posting alot of +1, right on, and Cool Starry Bra's until they hit the required post count. I don't post all that much compared to all the threads I read here( I'm on here every day). Ive been around since 2005 and have 2722 posts , yet there are members that joined last year and have over 5k. There are a lot of lurkers so a post count doesnt mean everything. Also some people find calguns by doing an internet search for "X pistol for sale", and then become members. I have sold a few guns through calguns to out of state members who joined to contact me.

I've had the other way where the seller says we can take care of the sale at their place like at the house. Usually if it seems shady I just let them know I changed my mind on the purchase.

My first post was an to another member selling a Henry pump action .22 rifle. I think many join because of the marketplace section.
