    the doj called

i got a call from the doj today wanting to verify my identity on a recent purchase that should be released on monday. this ever happen to anyone else? i missed the first call, the person said their name was rosanne and that they were calling from the doj and needed to confirm some information. she also stated that she did not have a number i could reach her at and she would call back later. (it was a restricted number). on the call back she asked for the last four of my social, being me and a bit i asked her to confirm the serial number of my purchase and some other random info that they should know (which she correctly answered). she also said if i didn't confirm that they were going to request fingerprints.... the whole thing struck me as odd and as my first call from them i was a bit worried....

Big difference between request and require. Any time you hear law enforcement personnel sound like their are asking, that should be an immediate flag in your mind. It does sound odd, indeed.

My guess, somebody stole your credit card info from the gun store.

Does seem odd....Have you attempted to call DOJ back yourself to inquire about your purchase?

I would think any response by the DOJ would be by mail on official letterhead.

Girlfriend of somebody who works at gun store?

Maybe call CC company or bank just to have them aware of potential and to be on lookout.

Make sure you call DOJ on a published DOJ phone number like from their web site.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

yes they say they can't talk to me about my case, and that if i haven't been denied it's a non issue, and that they do have someone with that name in the department that verifies info they said.

she did say require that was an error on my part.

What's the problem with that? I started doing it when all those stupid delays were going on. I didn't want to give them a reason to deny me.
