I'm thinking he means the National media. These stories are pick up by the local paper but the antis don't spread them across the nation like their favorite school shootings.

Well, they are local man bites dog stories. You don't see the national media covering, for example, local bank robberies or fatal car crashes.

The national media will pick up a shooting where lots of white kids get hurt, or a traffic accidents that kills an entire high school cheerleader squad; but they also routinely ignore the many young black men who are shot to death every weekend in Chicago, because it's not really newsworthy.
