TJ Johnson has been making a point to run classes just for women as well as female friendly co-Ed firearms classes for over twenty years now.

You won't regret any training time as money spent there.

For a basic class, I think OC Indoor Range in Brea has some offerings. I know a couple of the instructors there and they seem like they would be good. Unfortunately, I have not taken an actuall class from them.

Firing-Line Indoor Shooting Ranges in Burbank and Huntington Beach, CA. We offer basic firearms safety classes, CCW classes, and security guard training.

This place has a basic class for beginners. I'd recommend it. Approximately $150 for a 3-hour class.

So did you end up taking some training yourself?

I've taken loads of training my friend? Where does this question spawn from?

The calguns north OC chapter offers a free safety/training course at FT3 as part of their monthly shoot to get new shooters into the sport. I've put about 4-5 people through it and its excellent.

I would definitely start there first before you drop $$$ on more formal training.

Haha, my class is already full: I'm still training my wife and already a month has gone by with no time to get back to the range. If I was not so busy now I'd try to set something up to take her and my wife together to the range. Although I really prefer to go with a newbie out to the desert so they can be comfortable shooting without worrying about other people around them, and get a change to shoot a wider variety of firearms.

BTW - Thank you for the posts and PMs. She now has a wealth of options to choose from.

It spawns from all the numerous threads where myself and others encouraged you to take training classes as you said you hadn't taken any but were asking for modification advice on your new gun. Wondering where and when you took loads of training since then, and if you did, good for you.

If you want proper training for self defense reasons, the NRA has courses as I'm sure a few ranges do. Use that nifty tool called google. As for basic handgun handling and safety, anyone should be able to follow the basic rules.
