    Wolf Ammo

I have a mini 14 and i want to buy some bulk ammo, and wolf is super cheap, and i plan on blowing through it pretty quickly. What is the quality?? I havent herd very good things about that company. Anyone have any experience with this company?

I'll shoot it all day long. I'm shooting AK's though. Just make sure you clean the chamber and gas system. It's really dirty.

If your rifle don't shoot wolf, your rifle is broken and you should sell it or melt it down. As long as your barrel is chrome lined there is really nothing to worry about with the new wolf ammo. Just a little extra cleaning.

I've been told that the shells have chemical residues and the type of metal that they use for the casing is harder than the normal brass, and that this harder shell can damage the reciever.

no need to post up in multiple sub-forums... oh and as you're new, the search button is your friend.

look in the thread you started in the rifleman's sub-forum for more responses.

Ask the person that told you that to explain to you how a harder case would damage the receiver. It is absolute nonsense.

Hopefully Wolf 5.56 has better quality control than Wolf 7.62 M43. I've encountered Wolf 7.62 sans primers but with powder and with primers but no powder. Fortunately the bullets are crimped in so tightly that when the primer fired the bullet didn't move into the barrel and wait for the next bullet to be fired.

I have never had problem with Wolf ammo. It isn't what I mainly shoot, but I have shoot a lot of it.

not true. It's actually very soft steel. I've reloaded wolf steel cases and my mini eats it up fine. Buy some and try it for yourself. Have fun

I've only heard one story of the ejector being broken while shooting steel-cased Wolf, but I have a feeling that that instance was either the cause of a negligent owner or just a defective part.

I shoot almost nothing but Wolf and Barnaul in my rifles.

Most Wolf .223 is boxer primed, even if it is steel cased.

ETA: Did a quick little search and found Wolf's website says the black box poly-coated .223 is Boxer, the Military Classic is Berdan.

dw1784, I think a few of us would like a detailed write-up if it's not too much trouble. Any problems? do you reload once, twice...? etc.

Maybe start a new thread in the ammo section.

I've gone through a few thousand rounds of Wolf and never had a malfunction.
