I am curious about this.

Why do you prefer non-ported guns?

I won't speak for Toby, but for me, some ported pistols vent enough flaming gas to blind you temporarily.

Also, the porting can alter the direction of forces of recoil on the gun. The design of the grip allows the pistol to "roll" upward from the muzzle, dissipating some of the recoil energy through the arc of the wrist/arm/shoulder. Porting can stop or limit the upward roll and shove the remaining recoil straight back into your wrist.

Didn't notice any muzzle flash, was paying to much detail to holding on lol...I was really surprised at the accuracy, although I already admitted I was lucky mainly due to concentration on my awkward grip and not to focusses on sights.

Shoot it at night or on a darkened range...it should be impressive.

Interesting. Most my revolvers are ported. Yes, they push back vs. lift up. Personally, I prefer that. Never felt blinded or at risk of injury from the porting. I am a large person >6'. I wonder if this makes a difference?

I will have to pay more attention next outing.
