Should I send back my Remington 700 or replace trigger?

I just bought R700 from another member here and I come to find out it's affected by the trigger recall. I call Remington and lady tells me turnaround for the fix is 12 weeks waiting the 10 days was long enough! Now, my question is should I send it back or replace the trigger with a Timney? Any consequences for me not sending it back for the recall? Thoughts?

Not sure about consequences but I personally opted for a timney trigger. I plan to just throw the original one in the trash.

For the cost of ammo on a .300 win mag I'd rather just replace the trigger than remove the scope and ship back and wait instead of re zero.

I took mine to J&G in Roseville. They did the recall work by replacing the trigger. It took 8 days to get it back.

Ditto! Timney trigger, cheaper than having to take scope off, ship, wait, put scope back on.

I send it back, it just 12 weeks anyway and it'll be guarantee Remington will do it right.

I bought a 700 CDL just moments before the announced recall. I decided that, with the massive scale of the recall, the simultaneous failure to launch of the R51, that the likelihood of them getting all of the guns in, correcting the problem and shipping them out in a timely manner without loss or damage would be slim at best.
I bought a Jewell and am really liking it. It took me an hour to install - watching a youtube and being very careful. It was a good opportunity to do a thorough cleaning of the gun with the stock off and the trigger assembly removed.
I did order the recall box and am considering putting the little Rem trigger in the big rifle box and seeing what they will do. Their heads will explode.

I was going to send mine back, got all the stuff and the box to send it back and decided to go with the timney. More of a piece of mind then dealing with the ups/ or neighborhood thieves

Remington will just put another crappy trigger on it.

My 700 qualifies for the recall too, but I don't plan on chambering a live round and dropping it on the ground regularly, which is what it sounds like the recall is about.

I haven't even remotely considered sending it in to Remington.

I question this since they didn't do it right the first time...

I put a timney on mine. Much better trigger plus wait til you see deplorable box they send you to ship your rifle back. Its insulting.

Meh... Has it ever slipped? Can you get it to slip? Mine falls under the list. Too much hassle and not worth it IMO.

I see it as more a CYA lawyer thing than a actual safety issue. As long as we follow the 5 rules of gun safety we should be fine anyways right?

IIRC it's not even a guaranteed swap out, they are looking for "lube" build up or something and if yours doesn't have it they send it back out, if they find it they clean or it replace the trigger. I feel like 10% will be effected if that.

It took about ten weeks to get mine back. But then, I didn't buy a scope yet for it yet, so more time to buy other guns instead.
