first, im sorry for your losss.

Can you still do a inter family transfer if youre father has passed away. I thought both father and son had to be alive at the time of transfer.

Since the attorney wants this done, I would tell him to write it up and you will sign off on it after review.

As I understand it the kids should be able to take ownership of the rifles same as if grandpa handed them over since it's an inheritance. Minor children are exempt from registration of long guns since the new law applies to adults and inheritance has no FFL requirement. Handguns would have to be transferred to the Father until the children turn 18. That attorney is making this complicated for his own personal gain.
