Let me begin by apologizing if I am posting this on the wrong sub-forum, but I figured that I might find helpful suggestions here.
Our situation;
My wife is currently serving in the armed forces, and she needs to do her yearly range shooting qualification in September. Her biggest issue is that during basic training and her deployment she was partnered with an M4 with an adjustable stock (because they were available).
During that time, she had no issues qualifying with said weapon both zeroing and shooting targets at distances up to 300 meters. As some of you may know, they shoot in prone position and kneeling, both supported and un-supported.
Her height and build are the biggest hurdles when it comes to trying to qualify with an M16 as she is 5'1". Now, I wouldn't be here if her unit had an M4 for her to qualify with, but unfortunately they do not (they are a human resource unit).
SO with all that said, what brand, system, or set-up do you recommend in order to recreate the M16 as close as possible in length, weight and zeroing components?
FURTHERMORE, what range, if any, are located in the Los Angeles area (willing to travel further) where one can practice zeroing and shooting at targets at up to 300 meters in range in a prone and other positions.
Also, if anyone here knows of a qualified instructor who can meet us at a particular range, who maybe deals specifically with these types of issues, we would very much appreciate it.
Thank you all in advance.
