I was actually laughing at Hitmans post not mine, it was funny...stupid humor on my part, I am glad you took the time to recognize it.

BTW, you can quote it since it seems you have a lack of OR simply no sense humor.

Anyone know how to put someone on an ignore list?

now back to the OP's question.

They print a perfectly good gawdamn -10....USE IT!

Don't use any stupid "miracle" juice or dry lubes. Lube according to the MANUAL, they even have a special lube section JUST FOR THE DESERT.

It ain't friggen rocket science, kid. I've got 28 months in Iraq, with ZERO malfunctions.

Don't listen to Infantry pukes on weapon maintenance, they're the first ones to not follow the manual. Get the real scuttlebutt from your 2111's.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero

        LCPL:

I suggest a straight cleaner like the above mentioned MPro7 or something. Then militec for lube.

I use militec - http://www.militec1.com/ - here on my weapons and it's great. My son is in the Sandbox and he swears by it. First time you use, it's kind of a pain because you apply, heat the weapon (firing it works) and then reapply After the third time, it's a once every 1000 rounds application. You can wipe it dry, so it doesn't attract sand and gunk like CLP.

Good luck, stay safe, and thanks for your service.

FYI for those that have never had the pleasure, the sand is like baby powder and gets everywhere...

A "Veteran" -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to, and including his or her life."

eh, i used clp exclusively for my m16/m4 and never had a problem... we tried using the graphite stuff (when we first got deployed) but by the end of the first week, everyone had switched back to clp...
it cleans, lubes, protects, and smells great!! what more do you want?!?

hehe... stay safe out there... staying on top of weapons maintenance is uber-important as i'm sure you're aware of. nothing more useless than a weapon that won't fire...

There is no "WONDER" lube for that talcum powder crap that gets into every inch of everything you own. CLP or MilTec will work fine for your M4/M16/M9. Wipe on /Wipe off. Crew serves need to be a bit more wet going out the FOB. Just wipe the thing down between missions or when time permits. Good luck!

You ought to try gunzilla. It's a great cleaner, but I haven't used it in an environment such as yours. Good luck and stay safe.
Gunzilla also improves weapon reliability because it leaves a non-ionic coating for lubrication and protection which doesn't attract or retain sand, dust and carbon. In Iraq, Gunzilla has reduced weapon malfunctions by 75% and is considered a life saving product.

I have never gone to an Army weapons qual and not shuddered. The CLP gets passed around, and a couple of people will always squirt cubic centimeters into the bolt area, the work the mechanism a few times, then call it good.

There's some bizarre feeling that 'more is good.' CLP works fine if you clean the rifle on the odd occasion, and use just enough to do what needs to be done. Miltec is in the Army supply system, and can be ordered, if that floats your boat.
