I have been inside a Walmart maybe five times in my entire life. I do wonder about the folks hereabouts who seem to stop there every day on their way home from work.

I don't have the revenue stream to buy ammo in bulk as I would like so I usually end up going to Wally World sometime during the week leading up to a range outting to check for ammo.
I know it's not the cheapest in terms of price per round, but it's easier for me to put out 50 dollars in ammo once a month than throw down a couple hundred in one transaction.
I will also occasionally purchase a movie or two from the $5 DVD bin. Other than that, I avoid the place like the plague."Far and away the best prize life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing." - Theodore Roosevelt

now that the 223 panic is over; they have some of the less expensive brands back on the shelf. Their prices on some of them are not bad.... when you can get them (ammo) cheaper online? I've stopped going to Wally long time ago because of the 3 box limit and the line.
Calgunners directed me to different websites that sells ammo a lot cheaper than Wally. I like the convinience of buying them online and they deliver to your door free if you buy bulk and sometimes due to promo. It saves me time and gas.
on birdshot; their prices are actually good.
But I roll my own; I just look at what they have when buying other stuff....Comment

I do a quick pass though the entire sporting goods section every time I am at walmart. I have occasionally bought my 3 boxes of Tulammo 7.62... its been sold out for a couple weeks.Comment

I get groceries there all the time. The ones in Gilroy and Marina aren't anywhere near as bad as the ones somewhere like Fresno.

Our local Walmart has had good ammo supply even through the panic. Though they just recently reduced their ammo size by half because 3/4 of the shelves were empty all the time. Made sense
Tula 7.62 is still good there at 5 bucks/20
When I order online, except in MASSIVE bulk, like I did with 5.45 with roughly 10K rounds ordered, the shipping usually raises the prices above the store + tax....but their exists also in the human heart a depraved taste for equality, which impels the weak to attempt to lower the powerful to their own level, and reduces men to prefer equality in slavery to inequality with freedom.Comment

My local targets are actually no where near close to WM. Walmart is just nasty people again who have no care where they walk or drive, Target is actually better inside, people say sorry, people walk as traffic and orderly. Parking lot sucks, but the shopping inside is much better.
But personally I don't go to either. I'm lazy and just hit the super market or same club.Comment

I stop in a few times a weeks to look for 30 30 or some other odd rounds and usually buy some 223 or 762x39 just to add to the pile. Sometimes get lucky and get 308 tula. I do also order online but don't mind paying a higher price for some as you never know when the panic is going to start again. Better to be prepared than out of ammo.Comment

I stopped buying at walmart around when the panic hit. Too many weirdos who don't work buying everything up at 7 in the morning, imo. Online stores make it too easy- I just check around whenever I'm in need, it's always in stock somewhere, at a better price than walmart and other places, too.sigpic

I goto walmart more than target. It's cheaper and closer. I do walk by the ammo section if they have something I'm shooting with that month, on at a good price, I'll get it. I don't have a shottie yet, that's next years purchase. So I'll be looking into their fed 100 packs. I'm focusing on hand guns for this year. And last year I focused on ARr parts. I do agree with a poster above saying target has better customer service tho. If there is this specific worker who only works in the sporting goods section at Walmart, is working that day, even if they have something I'm looking for or rare, I won't get it. I swear every time I see this guy he has a sour face, like he ate a bug. I won't buy from him.Comment

And dont get my wrong, I go to walmart all the time, but... They dont even sell ammo in my neck of the woods! I'm not going to drive 20 minutes for walmart ammo pricessigpic

Walmart is my favorite store, they have 90% of my daily shopping needs, they have a a grocery store, they have automotive dept, paint dept, electronics & movies, garden dept, optical dept, sporting /ammo dept, last time I checked they had NO LIMIT on ammo purchase, you could buy all you want
Walmart is the only store worth going to, I shop at others but Walmart is still my favorite.Comment
